Getting to know the OWNers
The founders of OWN Cosmetics are two young women who are both into uncomplicated make up looks. Maru de Mesa and Badet Macaraig are young working millennials that often look out for easy-to-use and toxin-free make ups. With very few dependable organic make up lines in the Philippines, Maru and Badet have always dreamt of creating their own line.
The OWNers yearn for a make up line that does not only sell organic make up, but also (1) promotes up-cycling, recycling and waste reduction; and (2) advocates equality by producing products that may be used by everyone, regardless of their gender, skin color and age. So when an opportunity to produce organic beauty and skin-care products came, the two did not hesitate to take it.
OWN Cosmetics stands for One With Nature. Maru and Badet aspire for their customers to feel connected to nature through their products, packaging, and entire branding. The brand also looks forward to establishing partnerships with other brands and/or organizations with similar environmental advocacies.
