Any Buddy Holly fans out there? Well, read a little bit of the story. This is another pick by our Executive Producer Kirk Pasich who also suggested this very cool arrangement. I don’t really think any of us would have looked into Buddy Holly’s repertoire to choose a cover for this band, but to our surprise, here we are, and well guess what? Drum roll….🥁 the band decided to give the drummer some and let Suzanne sing lead on it. This song doesn’t have any drums at all, but rather features the band’s vocal harmonies, supported by a solid but subtle bass part by Holly Montgomery, a pretty arpeggiated guitar by Sherry Rayn Barnett, and short but beautiful fiddle solo by Aubrey Richmond. Our lovely Suzanna Spring joined the forces with the vocal harmonies. And voilà…we sure hope this short snippet will ignite your curiosity enough to order or download the album. Now hang tight because when our next album comes, there’s another version of this. From Suzanna: We are honored that our song "Crooked Road" is part of a new album, "My Friend: A Tribute to Rusty Young", just released today on Blue Élan Records. I wrote "Crooked Road" with Rusty when we both lived in Nashville. Tom Hampton from Poco plays pedal steel on this track, produced by Kirk Pasich and Colin Devlin, with Zack Darling engineering. You can find the album on all major music platforms. I think Rusty would be really proud of this record.
