Bacterial Vaginosis is a condition of the va**na characterised by the presence of foul smelling va**nal discharge . It occurs due to the reduction in the lactobacilli of the va**nal flora which makes va**na alkaline and favourable for the growth and multiplication of anaerobic species.

Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms:
The symptoms include :
🍄Creamy or greyish white discharge stuck to the va**nal wall.
🍄Fishy smelling va**nal discharge
🍄More prominent during and following menstruation
🍄 Itching
🥶There are asymptomatic carriers as well.

Bacterial Vaginosis Treatment:
The doctor may prescribe antibiotics to treat Bacterial Vaginosis. This could be a tablet you take by mouth or a gel to apply into the va**na for 5 to 7 days. Complete the course even if the symptoms go away or else there is a chance of recurrence.

Bacterial Vaginosis Complications:
Bacterial Vaginosis usually doesn't cause any health complications. It shows no obvious inflammation. But be careful if you have a hysterectomy or other surgery on your female organs while you have BV.

Take extra care if you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Bacterial Vaginosis causes a risk of:
😰A premature baby if you're pregnant.
😰 Interrupting fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Pregnancy and Bacterial Vaginosis :
Presence of Bacterial Vaginosis in the first trimester can lead to late second trimester miscarriages and preterm labor with its associated complications. Women with a previous history of second trimester loss or preterm delivery should have a va**nal swab performed in early pregnancy and if bv is detected, it should be actively treated in the early second trimester of pregnancy.

This year’s World Mental Health Day, on the 10th of October, comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 has been a tough one. The past months have brought many challenges for everyone. It also affected the mental health of millions of people.

World Mental Health Day is observed in October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health. The organisation behind the day is the World Federation of Mental Health.

This year’s theme is ‘mental health for all’, which is very perceptive in the midst of the freakish impact of the current global health emergency due to the pandemic. The international symbol for mental health awareness is a green ribbon.

Why the Mental health is important?

The mental health affects how we feel, think and behave. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. .

Most of the people will experience mental illness at some point in their life. Women are more likely than men to experience depression and anxiety.

There are nearly 300 mental disorders listed in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), the book by American Psychiatric Association. This is a handbook used by health professionals to help identify and diagnose mental illness.

Mental illness covers a spectrum of disorders like:
✅mood disorders (such as depression or bipolar disorder)
✅anxiety disorders
✅personality disorders
✅psychotic disorders (such as schizophrenia)
✅eating disorders
✅trauma-related disorders (such as post-traumatic stress disorder)
✅substance abuse disorders

Many factors contribute to mental health problems, including:

❣️Biological factors, such as genes or brain chemistry; family history of mental health problems.
❣️Life experiences, such as trauma or abuse

Do you think something is wrong with your mental health?
Then keep your ego aside. Get medical support if you feel you can't take it anymore because mental health matters.

PCOS and INFERTILITY

We all know PCOS, or Polycystic O***y Syndrome is, nowadays, very common in women among reproductive age (I need to make it clear, the menopause is not an end for PCOS. You still suffer from the symptoms of PCOS even after menopause). In fact, studies say that every 1 out of 5 women suffer from PCOS. It is a lifestyle as well as genetical disorder. It is one of the reasons of female infertility. 75% of women with PCOS struggle with infertility.

If you have PCOS, you might struggle to get pregnant. This is because the high levels of male hormones preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) - anovulation or irregular ovulation due to this hormonal imbalance.

Work on your symptoms, thus improve them is the healthy way to increase your chances of conception. Even though it has no cure, it can be controlled. 🤩

The first point is maintaining a healthy weight. It's not easy to lose weight if you have PCOS. But even a slight loss in weight is significant. Keep an eye on your BMI. [Please do not starve yourself. Enjoy your food. Stop cutting out all your favourite dishes. Just count it into your diet.🍦🍰]

Now, the second thing that matters is healthy eating. Less carb. More quality proteins, fibres and micronutrients. Include more veggies and healthy fat in your diet. 🍒🥑🥦
Keep yourself hydrated. 🧂🧂

Workout. Workout. Workout. How can you enjoy your workout session? I would say, 'DANCE YOUR A** OFF'. 💃💃💃

The aforesaid points are meant for everyone diagnosed with PCOS. When it comes to infertility, the most important requirement is the meeting of egg and sperm💘; and the quality time they spend together 💕 [isn't it?]
Have this pleasure roller-coaster at least every alternate days. It helps a lot for you getting pregnant. Act now. Thank me later 😍😜
Coming to the point. If this is not possible for you due to your work or anything else, you can monitor ovulation and plan s*x around ovulation.

If all these are not working, don't worry. We have so many options left out. But I prefer this because food you eat and your lifestyle can have a large impact on your PCOS. This is the most inexpensive and natural way to control your PCOS, stay healthy and to conceive.

Now if you're already fed up with these and look for alternatives, medications are available to induce ovulation. Make an appointment with your gynecologist or fertility expert. I am not mentioning the medicines here because I am afraid you're gonna try it without a proper assistance from your fertility expert. Remember, self medication is dangerous.

Doctors may advise for intra uterine insemination IUI, in vitro fertilisation IVF as further step. [NB : IUI is cheaper than IVF]

Last but not the least:
Life is too short. Just enjoy it. Create your own happiness.

Cheers!
