Monade Li

Quick note:
I was recently asked why I always work with male musicians and not really female musicians for my film soundtracks!
At the time, I couldn't find any words other than: "that's how it is, they're affinities!"

It was a lame answer but I always had trouble finding the right words at the right time; which makes me toss and turn in my bed at night when I finally find the solution!

The real reason is this: I'm nervous in front of girls ("J'ai le trac" en français). Fortunately, one day in Paris, I had the courage to ask Julia Kent but I was shaking like a leaf for fear that she would send me away! "Candice" is actually one of my favorite films!
If a musician like Carina Round sent me for packing, I wouldn't get over it!

I'm taking my time but the day will come when I will have the courage to ask the female musicians that I admire and who "made" me become what I am!

Selkies (or Sylkies) are mythological beings capable of therianthropy, changing from seal to human form by shedding their skin.
Faroese folklore tells of a vengeful Selkie who vowed to drown as many men from Kalsoy so that people could link arms around the whole island.
"My "stone-hearted" Selkie is an interpretation of the seal wife crawling on the seashore and her desperate struggle to reach the sea... with anger."

Inspired by connecting constellations the festival name combines the words cineaste ‘someone with a love of cinema’ with astra which means star in Greek.
