Yesterday we headed up to Moora speedway for day 1 of the street stock WA titles. We had 2 hours of practice. Decided not to push my luck and only went out for two sessions. Very different track with 1 turn being tighter then the other but didn't feel to bad and timed 23rd out of 60 cars.

Tonight we have 3 heats. Pretty sure it will be live streamed on Clay-Per-View

Coal miner 52

The night started of average qualifying 17th out of 22 cars.
That then seeded me into the first heat starting 8th and struggled to move forward finishing 8th.

With that I was told be the crew chief to stop being a bitch and winder up. I started pole in the mid pack dash and managed to hold on for the win meaning I started 13th for the a main.

Bolted on some new rubber for the final and started 13th. I managed to work my way up to 4th and even went to third at one point. On lap 50 the right rear tire let go and I managed to limp home in 6th. Really sucked after working my way forward but it is what it is.

We've decided to have a run next Sunday down at margs for night 2 of there 2 day Easter show to have a test run before the state titles at Moora at the end of April.

As always thank you to my sponsors

After having a run at Manjimup and having a lot of damage we got the car fixed for a run down at margs last weekend for a test run. Didn't get out final due to time curfew but car felt good.

Tonight we're at collie for the coal miner 52. Different format with qualifying, heat race, dash and a 52 lap final with a fuel stop half way through.

Perth Motorplex recap.

Friday we headed to the Motorplex for round 3 of the try city street stock series.

Friday.
Heat 1: 5 - 4
Heat 2: 8 - 3
We had a premium feature witch was 15 laps. Didn't have the best run finding myself in other people's dumb driving but managed to finish 6th. Unfortunately it didn't count due to the other half of the cars not being able to have there feature due to a massive down poor just after out race

Saturday.
Heat 1: 4 - 5. Was sitting in 3rd before a car spun Infront of us. so I backed off and it never went yellow so I got passed.

With this I qualified 10th for the final. After 20 laps and spending most the race 2 - 3 wide I finished 7th.

I'd like to thank my sponsors: big John mechanical, Tyrepower Busselton, southwest machining centre and west coast shearing

Had a really good night down at margs for Heidi's night.

Heat 1: 3 - 3
Heat 2: 7 - 2
B dash: 1 - 2
Started the final from 4th and worked up to 2nd. Had a few good goes at the lead but couldn't quite get there.

Couldn't do it without my sponsors: Southwest machining centre, big John mechanical, Tyrepower Busselton. Also thank u to jorja for getting on the tools and replacing half the underneath of the car. Haven't felt this comfortable for a while so I'm keen for this Saturday and Sunday at the Perth Motorplex.

We've been a bit slow to start this season due to focusing on other things but have don't a few races. Tonight tho we head to Augusta Margaret river speedway. Descent field of stockys for the Heidi Robinson. Also a fresh look and the car.

Photos from Jake Williams racing's post 05/01/2024

It's been a hot minute since I've posted do to being focused on other things but here's a late wrap up of out up north trip / 2022/23 session.

In June we headed up to Port Hedland for the state titles. Mostly decent run through the heats we managed to get the the b main and qualify for our first state title a main. I managed to do alright going up a few spots until lap 30 when I got a flat tire. Spewing to have it go 10 laps from the finish but happy to be counted as coming 13th out of 60 cars.

The next weekend we headed down the karatha for the Brett Johnson race. The first night I struggled finishing towards the back of both my heat races. Unfortunately that's all way got for night 1 due to a car bending the pit gate. Day 2 was heaps better having 2x thirds in my heat races. Due to the mixed results I started mid pack in the b main where I got caught up early in other people's carnage and couldn't really move forward from there. Missing the a main by 2 spots.

After a few days off holidaying at bullara station we headed sound the shark bay speedway for there far Weston championship. Definitely my favourite track out of our trip but a complete Change going from a 700m port headland track to shark bay being 380m long. My first 2 heat were good especially heat 2 where I managed to win starting from 6th. Heat 3 I have issues and spend half the race facing the wrong way. The final I started 6th and worked my way to 3 about have way through the race. Toward to end I got to 2nd and felt like I could have a go at the lead before the guy behind me kept driving into me rear tire making it pop on the second last lap. Annoying but ended finishing 4th.

Last season was a big one. We did 35 night of racing. Wrecked plenty of gear, resheled a car in 2 weeks, learnt and added heaps of notes, traced and got quicker as we did it. Before I went away I also was awarded 1st place in the street stock points, chiefs stewards awards and king of the speedway points for auguster Margaret river speedway. There heaps of people to thank that helped work on the car, helped with part and advice. Also thank u to last season's sponsors.

Ready to go for night 1 of the BJM in karatha. We have 3 heats tonight and a top 16 feature race

Photos from Jake Williams racing's post 26/06/2023

State title done and dusted.

Started 9th in my heart and finished 6. Really struggled with a heavy track.

This put me out of 6th in b main 1. After 20 laps I managed to pull a last lap pass to finish 2nd. This meant I transferred into the 40 lap a main starting from 19th. I wasn't doing to bad until around lap 30 until I hit a rut weirdly and popped the tire off the rim. We were recorded as 14th.

Few things to repair but we've made it to karatha for the BJM this Friday and Saturday night. This is also the last round of the north south shootout.

We now head north in just over 3 weeks for 3 weekends of racing at Port Hedland, karatha and shark bay.

Last Sunday was the last day of the street stock Australian title. In my heat I started 8th and finished 5th.
I then started 15th and finished 8th in my b main. To finish with a straight car and in 32nd out of 120 was pretty good.

Last night we headed to collie for the coal miner 51. With a different format we had hot laps and time trials. I started 4th in my head and finished 3rd so that meant I transferred straight into the 51 lap a main.
I started in 9th but made a mistake in lap 5 and had to go to last on a restart ( 23rd or 22nd ). We weren't quite the quickest car to have a shot at the leaders but played smart and worked my way back up to 4th in the second half of the race after the half way fuel stop. Finished the race in 6 behind some experienced locals.

Tonight we head to Manjimup for round 3 of the north south shootout

I've been really busy lately so I've been slack with updates but there has been plenty of racing on, I'll put another post up about that later. But for this weekend we're racing in Bunbury for the street stock Australian title.

We had a 3 hour practice of Friday and I set a good time coming 25th fastest.

On Saturday we had 3 heats and finished 4th, 6th, 3rd. So far I'm sitting 43rd on points out of 113 cars.

We have another heat tonight and then we move into the main events.

It's been a busy few weeks...

We headed down to Margaret River for there first club day of the year. With some good runs through the heats we started the a main from P2. Our luck then continued with getting hit on the left rear and popping another tire. I dropped back to 3rd and still managed to race the guy in front for second before I decided to back off a bit and just worry about finishing. Just managed to hold on to 3rd after 10 laps with 3 tyres.

We then headed down to collie on the 17th. It was a different night being in a teams challenge with Kye Blight Racing and Binning Motorsports . I had some ok runs in the first 2 heat getting a couple of 5ths. After some changed I managed a second in heat 3 putting me out of 4th for the feacher. That's when the night went down hill. On the first lap I got caught in a wet patch and hit the wall at the end of the straight. There was nothing I could do as I was a passenger at that point. I finished but down the back as I struggled to drive the car.

We also come 3rd in the team challenge. Me and Mitch Binning both had a bad night with Mitch having car trouble and ending up being sprayed with coolent.

Not sure when our next run will be as I bent the car when I hit the wall ( pushed the left front back 50mm) . We are part of the way through re shelling the car to try make it to Albany for next weekends 2 nighter. We're trying out best as it's the last round of the southern sedan championship.

The bad run of braking gear has made it hard to get used to the car having different shocks but we will keep trying

None of this would be possible with our sponsors.

It's been really busy on and off the track lately so time for an update.

A few weeks ago I had a run down at Bunbury for there Sunday series. Only a small Field on 5 cars having 2x second and a first gave me outside poll for the final and managed to get the win.

Last weekend we raced at collie for round 3 of the southern sedan championship, Which was a 2 night show. First heat I cut a tire so had to pull in then finished in the middle for the other 2 heats. Because of the dnf I started at the back for the final. Finished but Brock the diff hat bolt.

Saturday. Decided to start ROF in my heats due to just wanting to feel more comfortable and get used to the different shocks in the back of the car we had just got. Heat 1 saw me pop a tire off the rim due to it not having a tube. Finished in the middle for the next 2 heats then started 5th for the final. After some good racing come home 5th but feel slot more comfortable with the car.

This Saturday we head down to Margaret River for there first meeting on the year. Should be a good day with 10 cars nominated.

As normal thank u to our sponsors

Headed down to Manjimup yesterday for round 2 of the southern sedan championship.

Had a good run In the heats and started out of the final in 5th. Felt comfortable until a car spun Infront of me about half way through and I ended up in a pile up against the wall with no where to go. Something in the back of the car got bent so it was tricky to drive form then on. Managed to just finished 7th.

Time to fix the car before we head to Bunbury this Friday and Saturday for there 50th anniversary race meeting. Which is also round 2 of the try city shootout.

Brian rose day 2 ( sunday )

After some over night repairs we fixed a charging problem we had from Saturday. We had another 3 heats and then a 50 lap final.

Heat 1 started 3 finished 1st
Heat 2 started 12 finished 3rd
Heat 3 started 4 finished 6th. Bit of a s**tty heat this one. Got spun hand way down the straight then hit head on.

Because of our good results in the heat I qualified straight into the a main, starting in 10th. With a fuel stop on lap 30 we ended the a main in 11th.

All in all it was a good weekend away and to qualify 10th and finish 11th out of 56 cars was pretty good.

We now race in Bunbury this Saturday night for round 1 of the southern sedan championship, racing from 5pm

It's been a long time since I posted on here so it's about time for an update.

We rounded out last season with the end of year wind up down at Margaret River with come 2nd overall for the year. Last season we did just over 25 nights of racing over 7 different tracks. Non of this would be possible with my family dealing with my s**t or help from my sponsors. Which I'm lucky enough to have them back on board this year.

Over the last few months we pulled the motor out for a check over and some maintenance and pulled the car right down for a good check over. With the way things are at the moment with work and getting parts it made it a mission to get the car finished for this weekend.

Yesterday we started the season with one of the biggest events of the year, the Brian rose memorial at Ellenbrook speedway. With 3 heats yesterday and 3 heats plus a 50 laps final today it's a big weekend.

Heat 1 started 2 finished 5 or 6. As soon as I drove out the gate the car started running really bad. Managed to finish but found after the race one of the injector plugs wasn't it properly.

Heat 2 started 11 finished 5. Car was a lot better this time and I managed to stay clean and pick a few cars off.

Heat 3 started 4 finished 2. One of my best drives so far. Had a good start and managed to stay behind Jamie Oldfield for a few laps so I could pickup what he was doing and we're to drive the car. Managed to hold off a couple of really good drivers and dive bombs to finish 2nd.

We now head into the second day of racing sitting 13th out of 50 cars on points
