Fox Cultural Hall is a 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission is to inspire, teach and build our rural communities through equitable access to the arts.

Unfortunately, we've made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s Wooden Boat Challenge. Due to a number of challenging factors we will not be able to host the WBC on August 10th this year.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team at the Fox Cultural Hall. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to help with this event. We hope to see you all on the beach in 2025!

Our Story
Founded in 1984 by Terry Yagura, Arts For The Schools sought to address the decline in arts programming in schools, one of the unintended consequences of the 1978 ratification of California's Proposition 13, which drastically reduced education funding statewide. As a result, schools in the region now rely on Arts For The Schools to provide arts education programming for over 10,000 regional students each year. For 33 years, Arts For The Schools has encouraged students to create, perform, learn, lead, understand and discover through the arts.
Arts For The Schools exists today to fill the gaps in arts education in regional schools AND provides access to the arts for rural communities. We operate four programs, two for students, the Performing Arts program and the Visual Arts Artist in Residence program. We also operate two programs for the public, onSTAGE and The Breakfast Club. Today Arts For The Schools serves 21 regional schools in California and Nevada and dozens of communities in our service area spanning two states and three counties.
