I often get asked what is one simple thing I can do to support my hormones no matter what age or phase of life I'm in as a woman. This is my answer.

It may not seem like much but the power of incorporating this into your habits can be powerful. I use seed cycling along with healthy fats during the different phases of the cycle for full support. You can do only the seeds and still get the benefits.

In picture one, we are focusing on days 1 (menstruation) thru to 13 where estrogen is the highlight. When I refer to "activated" seeds we are talking about seeds that have at the very least been soaked and sprouted and preferably culture-soaked or predigested if you are doing your own.

In picture two, we are focusing on days 14 thru to your first day of bleed. This is the part of your cycle where progesterone support is predominant.

Now here's the best part - post-menopausal women (and any woman who does not cycle for whatever reason) can still do this by using the moon phases. Days 1-13 correlate to New Moon to Full. Days 14 to first bleed correlate to Full Moon back to New. Within my practice, I've seen women alleviate some of their intense PMS and other issues just by incorporating this one habit.

And if you haven't tried it I invite you to give it a shot. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. This is a prime example of using nutrition in a cyclical way. The more we can work with the earth and planetary energies to support us especially as woman the more we come back to harmony, balance and THRIVING HORMONES.

Celebrating my wrinkles! In my early 40's a friend told me I should go get botox to "smooth out my forehead". I was quite taken aback, why on earth would I want to do that I asked? The reply was so the deep grove in my forehead could be erased and I'd look so much younger. I recall laughing and responding with "I like my groove and will keep it thank you."

I find it sad that we live in a world where our natural aging process is deemed unbeautiful, that wrinkles are something to be ashamed of and "gotten rid of." Every time I turn around there's a new ad for how to smooth out or get rid of wrinkles, reform my face to make it more "pleasing, attractive" and so much more. Over the weekend I saw another midlife goddess post about how she didn't care about her wrinkles and lines anymore and how freeing this was and my heart sang. One of the comments she got said she mustn't care about keeping her man or she must be single and wanting to stay that way so of course she didn't care. My heart hurt reading that. Imagine going through life altering your body and your appearance for the sake of a man! or anyone for that matter!!

Contrary to what patriarchal society would have us believe, we are beautiful at every age! A healthy, vibrant face and body doesn't need to be hidden under layers of makeup, altered or adjusted. It glows, it radiates and shines. Every line, wrinkle, and mark tells a story, our story. It's a part of who we are. Instead of looking at the surface let's look inwards and ask am I healthy vibrant and strong in body and mind instead.

I look in the mirror and see this aging face and all the stories it has and I'm so freakin proud and grateful to still be alive, breathing and thriving and becoming more vibrant as the years go by. I love my gray and white hair - it too tells a story. We need more women standing up and celebrating their aging and letting their light shine through. Who's with me? I first heard this phrase in December 2023 while attending Empowering Women Live by Dr. Claire Zammit. For the first time in my life, those words really sunk in and had a profound effect.

This last weekend I had the honor of attending the powerful three-day training again. My most powerful takeaway? You guessed it. We cannot become ourselves by ourselves.

I've been a "lone wolf" the majority of my adult life, especially in my health and business journey. When I got curious and really sat with why I felt like I had to do everything by myself it went back to my early 20's when I was assigned an autoimmune label. I did not have the strength or energy to walk from my bedroom to the bathroom. I crawled around whenever I had to move. I was in excruciating pain, I couldn't keep most food down yet I was puffed up like a balloon. I could hardly put a sentence together let alone a thought. The medical system told me this was my life and I had to learn to adapt, to come to terms and learn to manage it.

Deep inside myself I knew, I trusted, I believed this was not true but realized I was alone. So I set about trying to figure out how to move through that state and into a state of vibrant health. This was in the days before the internet, and I was in a seriously debilitated state so it took me several years to achieve this. But it was this experience and others where the medical system and other systems failed me and I had to rely on my intuition and trust that I took on the story that I had to do things on my own. This was great in many circumstances and in hindsight, it has also held me back in many ways. I've committed to not doing the rest of this life by myself. I will seek out the help, support, resources, training, mentors, teachers and communities I need to facilitate the life I desire and choose in all areas of life.

And so I wanted to share this thought with you today in case it resonates with you. I'm curious what others' experiences have been around this? Especially as women we often think it's a sign of weakness to ask for help or seek out mentors when in fact it's the opposite that's true.

So true 🌷

Many people who meditate reach a point where they feel overwhelmed. This may appear in many forms: physical pain, emotional distress, nausea, panic, or another type of dis-ease. When people hit that wall, they assume they are doing something wrong in their meditation. In the perception of that person who is confronted by the unknown, it’s perfectly logical to draw the conclusion that they can’t control their mind.

Yes, the mind seems out of control — but you have stepped into noticing that state and being present with it. Most people identify with their thoughts so strongly that they don’t notice the mind is always looking for something to grab on to. Being unaware allows them to stay in the comfortable, familiar known. It also ensures that nothing will change in their life. Once you have chosen to accept that there will be discomfort and you choose to proceed anyway, you are on the path to change.

When you notice the subconscious programs that control how you think and feel, you start reclaiming control over your life. If you feel overwhelmed in meditation, stay for as long as you can. There’s nothing wrong with getting up if you feel unable to continue—but come back to your practice. Don’t let the discomfort of uncertainty deter you from your intention. You are training yourself to become greater than the emotions and thoughts that sabotage you. You are clearing out the subconscious programs that have been blocking the emergence of a miracle — and that miracle is who you really are.

Full moon love and blessings to you all! To say this full moon and retrograde have been intense would be an understatement!

This one took me back through many portals and rememberings to glean new understanding and clarity. Experiences I hadn't thought about in years reappeared asking to be reviewed through new lenses I've acquired more recently.

I've been working through the first level of the Women-Centered Coaching program with Dr. Claire Zammit, going deep into my own self-actualization and breaking through my inner glass ceilings. (I can't wait to be certified and start sharing the magic of this work with y'all!!!) The new perspectives have been life-changing and of course, enhanced by this astrological cycle and given many opportunities to apply and practice what I'm learning.

One piece has been most prominent for me, my connection to the Divine, Universe, God - whichever term(s) you use and coming to a deeper understanding of co-creation, trust and faith. Life situations during the last month have given me the space to understand my own resistance, and how I've been saying one thing and feeling another.

Feelings, emotions, physical symptoms, and health challenges are information. They are our body's way of communicating with us - love notes or messages I call them. I was attempting to avoid listening to one in particular so it had to get a little louder to get my full attention. When I finally stopped being "busy" and sat with my discomfort, the message that came through rocked me to my core and shifted my entire way of BEing and living. I felt my body settle into this place of "ah, you finally get it!" and a huge weight was lifted, along with resolution to the physical challenges being presented. This process never ceases to amaze me - our bodies are far more intelligent than mainstream medicine would have you believe.

And that's a wrap! Lambing season 2024 is completed. 6 ewe lambs 2 ram lambs. Looking for their own pastures in June.

Registered Scottish Blackface. Did you know this breed is on the endangered list for Canada? This is why we chose this breed, to help keep it going. They are super adaptable, hardy, disease resistant, lamb easily and ewes are great mothers. We've been breeding since 2021 and fall more in love with our flock every year.
