Our New study begins next week!

What is your purpose? What is your mission in life? Do these questions eat away at you? Are you up at night wondering if there is more? Have you stopped to think about it at all? Or do you keep so busy with all the things that you don’t stop for a minute and ask God himself, why am I here on this planet? We live our lives awaiting a rescue from pain and sin and suffering. But in the waiting, there is a purpose, there is a plan and there is a mission you were called to.

Come with us on this journey through the book of Acts. Find out what happens after the Gospels and how Jesus gave those early Christians a new mission. It wasn’t what they expected, but it was their calling. See for yourself through the powerful pages of God’s word what it means for you today to live out your years with a clear purpose. When you spend your time in the office, home, classroom, tennis court, neighborhood, hospital, or any other ordinary moment that makes up your life. It matters!

Your life is not just a space filler in time, but a purposeful gift meant to display the glory of God. Trust me, I know it doesn’t feel that way at times, so we need to be reoriented. Would you rather your purpose be defined by man-made ideas of an accomplished person, or by the one who actually Created you? One will leave you wanting and empty even in the most accomplished state, and the other will never fail you, but will show you who you were created to be! It might not look like glory on this side of heaven, but the ordinary steadfast life of a follower of Christ is the most beautiful picture of one who walks with purpose and passion. So, let’s pack our bags and journey together as we learn from the book of Acts, the acts of God.

just kidding! I have no clue about that. That was my first attempt at Clickbait. Did it work?

I do have a few Decemberish thoughts:
Many of you told me how much you loved the devotional from the Women's Christmas Event, and have already started it. I was waiting until Jan 1. But wouldn't you know I opened it today and wow! Such a timely devotional. Why wait to get our hearts and minds focused until after the New Year, what a waste of the reason for the season.

We don't have to just "survive" the Holidays. We can rest in the busy.

There's only one way to rest when we have lists of things to do. It's counterintuitive, right? But it's in God and in His Word. The rest He gives won't take away our list, but it may shave things off that aren't crucial, as we prioritize the Kingdom of God. It is a rest in knowing the audience we are trying to please and it's God alone! An audience of One. Truth is, we can't do anything to make him love us more or less.

I needed this reminder myself because I am feeling the kind of tiredness that coffee can't help. I want to do all the things but I'm just not the plate spinning kind of person, as much as I try, it doesn't work for me.

Instead of worrying about our to-do list, and our "must haves" we can be freed to give ourselves to the life-shaping larger pursuit of God's kingdom when:

1. Trust him to give us strength for whatever he has called us to today and in this season.
2 We really believe God is actively committed to meeting our TRUE needs in Jesus.

What a night! Thanks to all the ladies who came out, especially to our core team: Katie & Kelly for your creativity and heart in the planning!

It was a joy to be with you as we entered into the Christmas season together, celebrating the HOPE we have because of Jesus.

Huge thanks to all the helpers, speakers, & singers out there who were the hands and feet, and voices! Merry Christmas Friends!

Our fall Bible studies on "Even Better than Eden" by were completed last night with Pastor Phil giving our final teaching. It was a joy to walk through the Bible and see the lengths God has gone to bring His people home. Many thanks to those who helped lead us: , , Tree Tenzer and Sheri Holmes. We also love our group of facilitators who graciously kept us diving deeper each week.

Do you think God is out to get you? Do you think you have to clean up your life to come to Him? That’s how man works most often but not God. He is not like us. We tend to dangle grace and are hesitant to show mercy. But not God! He restores the broken! His kindness leads us to repentance. He waits to be gracious to you. Will you return to Him today?

Not many people have impacted me like Amy Carmichael. As a teenager I read of her life and prayed this prayer. Now 30 years later still praying and thanking God for the saints who have gone before me. Who has left a lasting imprint on you?

What thoughts are you planting in your mind today? It truly is a battle. “become the Dj of your mind.”
Cultivating God’s word will transform your mind and heart. Start with one verse and meditate on it. See the power of God’s truth as you begin to believe. The last book I read was “Don’t give the enemy a set at your table,” by Louie Giglio. Check out this excerpt.
