Another significant loss to our rescue 😔
Rest in peace Stanley, an amazing skunk with a strong will to live. He made it to almost 70 in skunk years after being severely neglected. In our care he lost over 25 pounds and was able to walk, see, and enjoy life with us for 4 years. If you love skunks, please don't buy them at pet stores, they're difficult to take care of properly.

Hi everyone, I know we have applications and messages piling up. I promise I will get back to you sometime this week. I usually to keep things strictly business but I wanted you guys to have an explanation as to why we've been so awful at messaging recently.

In early September we lost my precious great Aunt Helen in the purple, followed by the loss of my father, and now this weekend we laid Aunt Helen's twin sister Dora to rest as well.
My great aunts generously contributed to my rescue just before their passing and we are so grateful to have experienced their love in so many ways. They were both amazing ladies and they will be missed deeply by our family.

So, yeah, it's been a rough couple of months for my family. I'm doing my best to keep everything running but what's most important is that my animals receive the love and care they deserve, and that sometimes means we fall way behind on messages. We are sorry for any inconveniences this has caused and we will hopefully be on track again soon. Thank you for reading.

Toni & Daisy have been with our rescue for about three weeks!
Unfortunately these sweeties were forgotten about in their old home and were almost starved to death.
They have made an amazing recovery and are now ready to find a loving home together. They are affectionate, playful and great with a litter box.

This Giving Tuesday, please keep our critters in mind! There are always more mouths to feed, cages to clean, and bills to pay. Always more deserving little creatures in need of a safe home. We rely so much on our wonderful supporters- you allow us to do what we do. Every little bit helps.

We have a lot to reflect upon this year and be thankful for. Firstly, our adopters, fosters and volunteers who we would be nothing without- truly you guys are the backbone of our rescue.
We also greatly appreciate those who support us from afar with donations and simply engaging with our posts. A special thank you to our myster donor who sent over 50 pounds of dried worms, several cases of baby food, and other goodies from our amazon list this week.

This absolutely precious pair of young lop bunnies named Juno and Zoey need a foster or forever home. They are for the most part litter trained, and just about as friendly as any cat or dog. They constantly want your attention, snacks, and playtime. Please message us if you would like to give these two the home they deserve together.

Last week we received a surrender request accompanied by these shocking images of emaciated ferrets. The family had forgotten to care for then after a new baby was born. After a bit over a week of steady meals, the pair are now almost unrecognizable.
Please try and channel any negative feelings into well wishes for these ferrets. Ultimately the previous owner did do the right thing by getting them to us, and for that we are grateful.
Toni and Daisy are expected to make a full recovery.

New to the rescue! Two precious 6 year old leopard geckos. These delicate little ones would thrive with a mature, reptile loving family.

Atlantic Critters Rescue is five years old! We have come a long way from the days when we were just two cages of rats and the occasional ferret, and we couldn't have done it without all of your help!
The past year has been filled with some pretty significant highs and some pretty significant lows, but we are looking to the future, excited about the changes we have been able to make with our new location, and looking forward to helping even more animals over the next year.

Animal mistreatment can come in many forms. Exploiting and using animals as a weapon at the risk of their safety is one of those ways. A disgruntled ex employees of Marvin’s decided to unleash a bunch of feeder mice in his office. Unfortunately, not all of them made it. We were able to save most of them and was nice enough to take 13 of them! We found one last straggler at the end of the day. His name is Cavatelli and we’d love to find him a home. He should go to a home with other male mice. We won’t adopt him out as food, obviously.

We would really love to see you at our adoption event & mini music fest at Anchor Rock Club in Atlantic City next Sunday! There will be vendors and raffles as well!

This cutie needs a home!
Omar is a 10 year old black velvet male chinchilla. He does not like being held very much but loves his head scratched. He also does not seem to like other chinchillas. He hasn’t had any health problems, and has many happy years left as chinchillas can live up to 25!
Chinchillas are delicate but make rewarding pets for quiet, gentle households.

We have two super cute pairs of guinea pigs looking for new homes. We are also looking for guinea pig fosters- all supplies are included! Message us for more information

Adorable and friendly ferrets need a new loving home. They have lived through very real horrors that we cannot disclose publicly. They have been safe with Humane Law Enforcement for several months and are now looking for a forever home. Details will be provided upon approved application. Please message us to help these two, they deserve it after what they have been through.

Ruthie and Cedar, our potbellied piglets, got moved into their new mini barn today! We scored this on Facebook marketplace for only $700!
We are hoping to raise donations for the cost of the barn. If you can contribute we would be so gracious!
Ruthie the pink piglet came from the high intake shelter in Philadelphia, and Cedar the black piglet is the result of a nightmare abandonment case where 70+ pigs were abandoned on a property.

Rest in peace to my beloved father Bruce. He was one of a kind. Dentist, scuba diver, boater, animal lover, prankster, John Denver's #1 fan and the kind of guy who would bring his snakes into school to show all the kids.
He will be so incredibly missed. He supported me every step of the way when I started this rescue. I love you dad!
