2025 Travel Season Evaluation Announcement!!

Travel evaluations for the 2025 season will be held at Knute Nelson Ball Park on Sunday, September 8th. Times for each age group will be posted at a later date.

Registration and all travel league information will be available on the new AYBA website that will be launched next week. Much more information on that to come.

THRIVENT BASEBALL NIGHT!!!

Join us for the Thrivent Jr. Legion baseball night on July 15th at 5pm.

Due to the large amount of rain we have received and are predicted to receive, all Minor league games tonight (June 18th) are being postponed.

Games will be rescheduled for a later date. Coaches will be notified of the new game date and schedules online will be updated once everything is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.

Batting Cage Update!

Batting cages and soft toss nets are up and ready for use at Fillmore park! The youth committee is working hard to complete the Woodland cages. We hope to have them up by June 1.

Due to the turf glue and staples we are asking that NO CLEATS (plastic or metal) be worn on the turf in the batting cages. We will have signs up in the coming weeks stating the same thing. We appreciate your cooperation to ensure this turf remains in good condition for years to come.

Attention All Current 9th grade parents and players! Junior Legion Red tryouts will be Sunday, May 19th at 4:00 PM at Knute Nelson Field. All players interested in Junior Legion should be there.



As of now, there will NOT be tryouts for Junior Legion Black or Senior Legion teams as all who have registered are on a roster. If this changes we will let you know. Thank you!

Baseball Families, Friends and Fans,
The AYBA Board continues to work on raising funds to improve our baseball
and softball fields across our community. As part of our fundraising efforts, we
are again hosting six Bingo and Meat Raffle events at Copper Trail Brewing on the
first Friday of each month. We encourage our baseball community to come out to
these events and support our facility improvements campaign….and WIN cash,
prizes or Lakes Country Meats packages! These are fun evenings that benefit a
great cause for our kids! We hope to see you there!

With football practices going on currently we will have to adjust the Travel evaluation schedule again to try and accommodate as many players as possible. This will be the final schedule for tryouts.

The 11u and 12u evals will be on Wednesday, Sept 6th and the 10u, 13u, and 14u evals will be on Thursday, Sept 7th. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Start times are listed on the website. Please note- the start times listed are 30 minutes before the evaluation start time. This is done to give players time to warm up.

Evaluations are scheduled for September 6 & 7 at Northstar Sports Complex.

A parent meeting has also been scheduled for Monday, August 21st at 6:00 PM at PrimeWest Health. Parents with players new to travel are strongly encouraged to attend.

The AYBA Youth Committee would like to congratulate our travel teams that qualified for state baseball tournaments this season. We had 4 teams qualify across several age groups. Great work to all players and coaches!!

The AYBA youth committee would like to take a moment to thank all those involved with our in-house and travel teams this season. We had over 300 players between in-house and travel programs.

To the coaches, we appreciate your dedication to the sport of baseball. You all worked tirelessly to put together lineups and find coaches and other parent volunteers. You had to “roll with” rescheduled games due to weather issues. You put so many miles on between practices and games to ensure your players were ready. We could not continue this program without each one of you. Thank you!

To the parents, we cannot thank you enough for entrusting us with your player. You got them to games and practices (sometimes on nights that were not originally on the schedule.) You gave up your summer to support your player and their team. We appreciate your dedication to growing this sport and this organization. We cannot do it without you. Thanks so much!

To the players, you make our world go round! You worked hard each day; sometimes in blistering heat other times in the rain. You supported each other during good games and not-so-good games. You displayed excellent sportsmanship on the field and off. You are ambassadors for this program. We look forward to seeing each of you on the field again next year.

To all participants – whether on the field or off- THANK YOU. The AYBA committee and the entire board thank each one of you for your support. We look forward to seeing you next season.

The Minnesota Twins will conduct a free youth baseball clinic in Alexandria, MN on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. The clinic will take place at Alexandria Area High School in Alexandria, MN and will run from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Minnesota youth clinics are for boys and girls ages 6-12. Participants are required to register for this free clinic at www.playballmn.com.

Participants are required to bring their own gloves.
