Dog-lbs

Saving dogs...one pound at a time.... A journey to save shelter dogs by raising money for the amazing dog rescue Recycled Doggies (www.recycleddoggies.org).

The first year I lost 72lbs and raised close to 5K for the dogs. I have gained so much including a love for running and a new love for life that I have decided to keep doing to see how much money I can raise while I continue to lose weight and walk the road to a healthier place. I blog about my struggles, successes and everything in between with complete honesty. Read more about me, the dogs and the rescue and I love so much by

Tristan and crew are giving me the "look" to either finish up my coffee or get a refill and get moving so they can romp around outside in the backyard! We all hope you have a wonderful day, everyone!

Six years ago, my life changed forever when a severely abused dog found his way into my world. He is forever a part of me, his story woven within me, brilliant colors of life lessons and hope etched into my very being. Tristan makes me laugh every single day, gives me strength and during the darkness when the hardships of my life seem just too much to endure, all I have to do is look at his sweet face, and I know by his example, it's just a matter of one small step at a time. I celebrate this sweet boy everyday, but especially today, so thankful he chose me and the schnauzers to love. None of this would be possible without the amazing rescue Recycled Doggies, please consider a donation in honor of Tristan to help them save the dogs that have no voice, no hope and no one to show them love.
