My name is Mothra
The world is a big place for a little puppy like me.
At just eight weeks old, everything seems enormous and mysterious.
I’m Mothra, from the Monster Movie litter at the Dire Wolf Project, and yesterday, I embarked on my biggest adventure yet—the summer forest.
As the sun filtered through the trees, it cast dappled shadows on the ground.
The scent of pine and earth filled my nose, and I felt a twinge of excitement mixed with apprehension.
The tall grasses waved gently in the breeze, and I could hear the chirping of birds and the rustling of small creatures in the underbrush.
I took a cautious step forward, my paws sinking slightly into the soft ground.
The world is so big, and I am so small.
My heart pounded as I ventured deeper into the forest, my ears on alert and my nose twitching.
A grasshopper leaped out from the grass, startling me.
I jumped back, my tail tucked between my legs.
But curiosity got the better of me, so I crept forward again, watching as the grasshopper hopped away.
I realized grasshoppers aren’t so scary after all.
With each step, my confidence grew.
I followed the scent of wildflowers and the sound of a chittering squirrel.
The forest was alive with wonders.
I wanted to bravely explore it just like my brothers and sisters.
I found a patch of sunlight and rolled onto my back, feeling the warmth on my belly.
It was a small moment of pure joy, and I let out a happy yawn.
I continued my journey, sniffing at mushrooms and pawing at fallen pinecones.
The trees seemed to whisper secrets as the soft wind blew through their branches.
I felt a sense of peace and belonging here, surrounded by nature’s beauty.
I am not the leader of the pack, but in this moment, I didn’t need to be because, the forest welcomed me just as I am.
As the sun began casting a golden glow over everything, I made my way back to the clearing where Jennifer, my best human friend, was waiting on her bench overlooking the meadow.
Her smile was warm and welcoming.
I bounded over to her, my tail wagging furiously.
She lifted me up into the air and set me on her lap.
I licked her face in delight, trying to tell her about all the wonderful things I had seen and smelled.
“Did you have a good day, Mothra?” Jennifer asked, her voice gentle and kind.
I nuzzled against her, giving her more kisses and hugs.
I wanted her to know how thankful I was for this adventure, for letting me explore the big, wide world and for always helping me feel safe and loved.
Jennifer stroked my fur, and I settled into her lap, feeling content.
The forest is a magical place.
I discovered that even though I am not the bravest or the most outgoing puppy, I can still find my own way and enjoy all that life has to offer.
With a human companion by my side, I know that I can face any adventure, big or small.
I love my forest home and Jennifer, but I want a family to call my own. The Direwolf Express leaves Friday. You still have time to decide if I am right for your family.
I got a perfect temperament score.

This case is EVERYTHING wrong with our judicial system!
If I think about this for too long, I will become very angry.
And I don’t become enraged easily.
Right now.
This very moment.
As you read these words.
There is a high-content female wolf dog named Briccs lingering in solitary confinement FOR NEARLY A YEAR in what appears to be a 10 x 20 foot outdoor/indoor cement kennel enclosure at the Cleveland Animal Care and Control facility in Ohio.
No human contact except for food, water, and daily cleaning.
No walks.
No training.
No treats.
No affection.
One Kuranda bed to lay on.
It’s a concrete prison cell meant for the worst dog offenders awaiting trial.
The only problem is…
No one is sure that Briccs committed the horrific crime that landed her there in the first place.
On top of that, her trial has been pushed back THREE TIMES now!
Is there an innocence project for dogs?
Because you simply won’t believe this story!
The legal immigration status of two Jamaican immigrants is being held hostage pending the trial.
The young disabled owner has been charged THREE TIMES with various “crimes” which appear to be harassment charges.
FOUR JUDGES and FOUR PUBLIC DEFENDERS have quit the case!
This poor, young, disabled black man is currently WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!
The public defender’s office has now declared they will no longer work on the case and would rather HIRE A PRIVATE ATTORNEY on the county’s dime to represent the disabled owner and his wolf dog.
His older brother, Jesse, is desperately trying to hold it together, but he fears the worst for Briccs.
This case is EVERYTHING wrong with our judicial system!

American Dirus dogs are meant to be family companion dogs.
They long to be with people and human families who love them. not living primarily with other dogs.
Mary and Meriwether are two of the best dogs with their loyal and gentle spirits.
Your job can let you down.
Your government can let you down.
Your friends can let you down.
Heck, even your family can let you down.
But a dog will never let you down.
Their unconditional love is such a comfort when times get tough.
Our twins, Mary, and Meriwether remain in waiting until that right person comes along to claim them as their own.
If you think you may be the right person for these wonderful dogs contact us.

Jay departed on the latest DireWolf Express trip with the two siblings from the Giants Litter, Anak and Elatha, this morning.
He named it the “Solar Eclipse Trip” because he is going to be in the midwest during the solar eclipse, which he would otherwise not be able to see.
But, a DireWolf Express trip would not be the same without Yeti, Jay’s beloved companion.
So… along with Anak and Elatha, Yeti has now embarked on an adventure of a lifetime.

Congratulations to Dozer- Ari the Lionhearted ( Black Opal/Bally) and his handler, they have passed the public access test and joined the ranks of the Direwolf Guardians.
There she was with her head hung low,
cowering in the back corner.
Her mournful eyes bore a hole through my heart.
This girl isn’t just any ordinary dog at Dire Wolf Project headquarters.
She is the omega dog of our typically omega-like dog breed.
Poor Hedy.
She has the most sincere, loving, gentle soul of all of our dogs, but that softness seriously gets taken advantage of by others.
Hedy is a white, curly-coated love with erect ears and brown eyes.
She adores people and always desires to be near them.
She has never felt at home with the other dogs.
Unfortunately for Hedy, seven months ago when it was puppy picking for the Genius litter (Essex/Regina), she was not chosen.
Then, her beautiful light silver, wolf gray sister with the prettiest wolfish features found a wonderful forever family.
But not Hedy.
No children to call her own.
No family to take her on walks to the park.
Or hand out belly rubs in the living room.
Even as a puppy, she was the most selfless, submissive dog, so her two white sisters easily pushed her to the back as they competed for pets and loves whenever I walked into their kennel.
I always gave Hedy special attention because I knew she would not seek me out on her own accord, allowing the others to go first.
We do not wish to breed Hedy, so as she’s grown into a young adult, she can’t stay in a pen with any of our males.
Therefore, she must make her home within a cabin space where only girls reside.
Recently, our newest crossbreed, Black Opal (50/50 Lab/Shepherd), returned to stay with us for a while as her family transitions back to northern California.
Since Opal is only here temporarily with no intention to breed, she was placed in the same stud-free space Hedy occupied.
Being a 50/50 Lab/Shepherd working dog not of my breeding, Opal doesn’t have the same emotional sensitivity as our American Dirus dogs.
Yesterday, as I was feeding and watering the dogs, I heard a bone-chilling cry from the all-girl cabin.
Apparently, Opal had wanted to be in the same space as Hedy, but Hedy was afraid to move.
Like the big bad wolf, Opal tore after the curly white lamb cutting the top of Hedy’s ear.
Poor Hedy!
She only wants to live peacefully in this world.
She never stands up for herself and doesn’t fight back.
If you think you could give this sweet loving pup her forever home.

All of a sudden, the wind picked up like a banshee, carrying an eerie foreboding that sent shivers down my spine.
At the same time,
the dogs began barking like mad
As I was heading out of the food prep area, Yeti looked back at me as if to make sure I was safe, then whipped her head around, barking furiously toward the home camp.
Without warning, a tan-colored streak shot out from a nearby thicket and turned sharply into the grove of evergreen trees.
The wind muffled any sound.
Yeti puffed her little 6-month-old self up as much as she could and charged forward.
WOW!!
Did she ever surprise the heck out of me!
We rarely have an opportunity to see our dogs react to real danger.
It was amazing to see brave, confident Yeti taking matters into her own hands.
She only went a few feet, then stood still, looking out into the night.
I shined the high-powered flashlight over the glade......

Jay has never found that one dog that he wanted to call his own .Ever since his beloved Cricket passed away nearly three years ago,
But in todays email Jay has claimed Yeti as his own. He went and bought her a collar Buying your dog a collar can be a very symbolic event. It means there is acknowledgement of a commitment between the two of you . Yeti certainly seemed to understand this by her excitement and waging tail.
As he placed her new collar on her claiming her as his very own dog he said the irish blessing to her.
"May your presence fill us with the joy you feel when we come home.
May your kisses wash away our tears.
May your presence take away the lonelies.
May you lie by our beds dispelling all darkness.
May your bark ward off all enemies.
May your nap time bring peace and serenity.
May your snuggles be fireplace warmth to our hearts.
May we both live a long and healthy life together."

Shiloh- Monstro ( Razar/Essex) who was recently delivered to his new home on Friday is doing remarkably well . For an adult to adapt so quickly is a testament to the breed and the training he is receiving from his owner.
Here is a story used with permission from the owner:
"I must have turned to fast and slipped on the wet grass and fell down to my knees. To complicate matters there was nothing close by where I could pull myself up with and I was wearing one of those long fleece t-shirt (it comes to my ankles) and I was to far from the fence. While I was on my hands and knees (never mind what I was saying under my breath), Shiloh came right next to me and laid down so he could see my face, then he half way got up placing himself so I could reach his shoulder, once he felt my hand on his shoulder he stood up. He actually helped me to get up. This he did on his own with no training and this is only going on our second full day of being together."
This is only one example of the amazing things these dogs are capable of.
