I'm still here! Wanted to give you a bit of an update on GunNoob.com as it's been a while. Things are taking a bit longer than I originally expected. I vastly underestimated how long it would take to get the design remade for the new software as well as how long it would take to transfer all the blog posts, guides and other stuff over.
Rest assured, I'm still working hard on it and it will be back as soon as possible, I promise! Thanks for being patient!
So here's the situation as it currently stands. The system that runs GN is completely borked. I can fix it, but it's going to take me a while. Finishing up the move to a new CMS, however, will take about the same amount of time. All things being equal, it makes more sense to just finish up the move rather than get it working and then spend more time moving.
Ultimately, it means the site is going to go on hiatus while I work on it. This should only take a week or two. I'll still be on Facebook and Twitter if anyone has any questions or requests for when the site comes back up. Once the new software is up and running, you can bet I'll be making a big deal out of things. I'll also keep you all updated as time goes by.
Thanks for your patience. It won't be much longer.
If it's not one thing it's another. Having problems with the site software again. I'm in the process of migrating to a completely different content system but moving all those articles takes a while (as the current CMS has no way to export to the other). In the meantime, I'm trying to keep the current site running with duct tape and chewing gum. The new post will be up as soon as I get things working again.
Sorry again.
is here again! We had two questions about concealed carry positions! Check them out: http://ow.ly/MHAzh
Free For All Friday 5-8-2015: Carry positions. I hate to talk about this kind of stuff but it still needs to be mentioned. I’m big on transparency so sometimes these discussions will come up. I...

Over the weekend, Chris got to shoot the G***k 18C pistol! Not only did he have a great time but he has given us a write-up so that we may live vicariously through that lucky bast...err...dude. Next time, bring your camera will ya!?!
Check it out!

Pedantic [puh-dan-tik] (adj.): overly concerned with minute details or formalisms.
Spend any time in places where fi****ms are discussed in any way, shape, or form and you'll eventually hear someone using the term "clip" to describe a magazine. If you're like me, that will annoy you just about as much as someone saying "I'm not going in their" (wow that was physically painful for me to type). A while back, I wrote this article on exactly what the difference was between a clip and a magazine.
Click below to get your learning on...
Clip vs. Magazine I've touched on it before but time to go in depth. I’m hearing it so much lately that now it’s like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard. Hollywood gets it wrong, the media gets it wrong, video games get it wrong and even firearm instructors

Things are getting volatile out there. Between Ferguson and now Baltimore, riots and violence seem to be on the rise. I hate to be blunt but if you don't think it could happen near you, you're fooling yourself and that could leave you woefully unprepared. A while back, we posted a general guide concerning what to do if you find yourself in or near a riot. With everything happening at the moment (and considering I know a couple people who live near the troubled area), I think it's worth it to re-post this guide today.
Chance favors the prepared mind and having a plan in place will make you exponentially more likely to come out unscathed.
Getting the Heck out of Dodge: Dealing With and Surviving a Riot. Ask any expert: society is fragile. It doesn't take much for it to collapse and when it does, it's not pretty. Law and order go out the window while bricks and trashcans go through windows. Civility is replaced by rage. Humanity is replaced by something else
Due to "real life" obligations for the forseeable future, I'm altering the update schedule of the site. It's still going to be twice a week but it will update on Tuesdays and Fridays moving forward.
Other than that, everything stays the same. See you tomorrow!
We had two questions this week for . The first person wanted to know about Double Action Only options for concealed carry weapons. The second question delved into magazine issues and gunsmithing.

Time to get your questions in for this week's ! Internet forums are notoriously unfriendly to those with beginner questions. We're the exact opposite. We love those questions! It doesn't matter how basic or even off the wall. Be it a "how to", a "what should I" or just an "I'm curious about", we answer them all and we enjoy the heck out of it.
