I played a bit of the album "461 Ocean Boulevard" after going through some Eric Clapton albums yesterday.
I was reminded of a favorite song on there; "Please Be With Me", written by Scott Boyer with his band "Cowboy" in 1971. Recorded just a couple months before his untimely death, it was the last recording Duane Allman played (Dobro) on. Maybe partially because of that, Eric Clapton included it on this 1974 album, 461 Ocean Boulevard.
It inspired me to pick up a guitar and try to do a take of it. Such a simple song, and yet if I could write one like this in a lifetime, I'd feel pretty well-accomplished.
