If you obtain your amateur radio license, you can replace "Battery Weather Radio" on the below checklist with an inexpensive handheld amateur radio and you will not only get weather but be able to communicate, if needed, for any assistance.
Something to think about...not too late...BE PREPARED!!!

Build your supplies over time by adding a few items each week or month. Gather in advance the necessary supplies and items you will need to stay safe after the hurricane passes and as you start to recover.

This group is already preparing for hurricane season and being able to support the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office with communications if necessary. Show them your support and check in.

They’ve been collecting data of changes in the earth’s electrically charged upper atmosphere that occur during the eclipse.

The Museum of Science and Industry’s Amateur Radio Station / Club was disbanded in August of 2017. Most of the equipment/antennas were donated to the South Florida Science Museum’s amateur radio club. Club callsign KM0SI was cancelled on 9/29/17. This page is remaining open until further notice to publish information about amateur radio.
