Dear CHS Class of ‘82 Classmates,

We can’t believe it’s already been a year since we got together for our 40th Class Reunion! We’ve had our turn and now it's time to step up and help the next generations of students from our alma mater.

Last spring, your 40th Class Reunion Committee morphed into the Class of ‘82 Scholarship Fund Committee. Our Scholarship Committee teamed up with the Caldwell Foundation for Educational Opportunity, Inc. (CFEO) which was established in 1992 with the help of our very own high school government teacher, Mr. Randolf! This nonprofit maintains and distributes over 50 scholarships to graduating seniors in Caldwell School District.

Last year, through fundraising at our reunion, we were able to raise and donate $1,000 to the Charlie Alvaro Scholarship Memorial Fund as well as start our very own CHS Class of ‘82 Scholarship Fund. One of the requirements to receive the scholarship is that it must be used within the state of Idaho in a healthcare or social services related field. Choosing our first scholarship recipient was no easy task as all of the applicants were well qualified. The chosen recipient of our $1,000 scholarship is now attending Idaho State University.

We are reaching out to you seeking donations for this revolving scholarship fund. This scholarship is our legacy and will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the students who receive it. This is a great tax-deductible opportunity for our proud CHS ‘82 Alumni to help future generations of CHS grads with their financial needs for college. We are asking all CHS Class of ‘82 grads to please make a contribution to this scholarship. During the month of October, we have $1,000 that has been earmarked for matching funds; it could double your donation!

We are only $1,900 shy of reaching our goal of $10,000 to make this a permanent revolving fund scholarship. Class of ‘82 grads, you could donate $19.82, $82.00, $198.20, $820.00, $1,982.00, or even $19,820.00. And remember, all donations are tax-deductible because CFEO is a non-profit organization. AND, if we are able to raise an additional $10,000 we could double the size of the scholarship or possibly give 2 scholarships each year!

You can click on this link to make a donation https://www.cfeo.org/product/class-of-82-scholarship-donation/
or make donations in the nostalgic, 1980’s, old school form of a paper check to:
CFEO
Box 122
Caldwell, ID 83606
Label the donations: for Class of ‘82.

We would like to thank each and every one of you in advance for your contribution. No amount is too small! Every little bit helps and remember, it’s tax-deductible!

If you have any questions or would like to serve on the Scholarship Committee, email us at [email protected]

Very Sincerely,
Your CHS Class of ‘82 Scholarship Fund Committee
