35 “Be ready for service and have your lamps lit.
My reading this morning. I felt the Holy Spirit saying Be Ready and Stay Woke. Two reasons - One we don't know when Christ is coming but we know he is. So be ready and stay woke. Second somebody needs to hear from you , or see you doing something in a way that they will question you, about why you do things the way you do. Be Ready and Stay woke!

The book of Joel reminds us that the Day of the Lord is coming. Sometimes that day seems far away. It seems far away when we struggle with lost like Mary and Martha did over Lazarus. When we struggle with health issues like the woman with the issue of blood. Even when we feel like the lepers that were outkast {I spelled it with a k on purpose}😁. In those instances we see Jesus healing to give us a glimpse of what the Day of the Lord looks like! We know it is not the fullness of the Day like in Revelation 21:4. However the Kingdom is here, and the Kingdom is to come. We have a God that has given a promise, and it will come to pass!

If you are struggling with something to be thankful for, remember the gift of salvation that God has given you! You are a member of a secure kingdom that cannot be shaken by headlines or bad days. Your eternal destiny is secure in Christ! Thank God for that wonderful gift.

The Christian life starts, continues, and ends in dependence on the Holy Spirit.
We must see biblical characters the way the Bible employs them, not as ethical models, not as heroes for emulation or examples for warning but as people whose story has been taken up into the Bible in order to reveal what God is doing for and through them. Christ is focus of the entire Bible! His Glory Alone.
