It’s officially soup season! Pre-washed and cut kale, canned beans and fire roasted tomatoes and pre made stock help make this soup flavorful, fiberful and fast to put together! Italian sausage is optional, and I always sauté garlic and onion to start. Chili peppers are also a great addition.
Tried a new probiotic drink today, thanks .dee78 . It was tasty, hydrating, and with 5g of added sugar, it is a better choice than your average soda pop 🥤 It also delivers 2 billion CFUs of bacillus probiotics and some essential nutrients too!

Thank you to the Jacobs MS Center and the Hispanic Heritage Council for putting together an important program, and inviting me to contribute. I love to contribute whenever I can to programs like this that help improve the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis. Over the years working with this patient population, I have found them to be some of the most resilient and inspiring people I have met. I am looking forward to helping plan the next MS community program in April.

Great read on bone health and overall health really. My takeaway: Lifestyle is the solution vs focusing on one supplement or medication. Supplements can support, but diet pattern and movement are vital components to preventing or reversing bone density loss.
The Bone and Mitochondria Connection | The Institute for Functional Medicine Can optimizing mitochondrial function as we age positively impact both bone quality and muscle mass, or even reverse age-related bone and muscle disorders?
I recently had the opportunity to interview Dr. Terry Wahls for the March edition of Natural Awakenings. She has been studying the impacts of diet and lifestyle on Multiple Sclerosis and is currently conducting a large study in Iowa. If you don’t know her story, or research, you can read the interview and learn more.
Terry Wahls on Managing Autoimmune Disease With Lifestyle Interventions | Natural Awakenings Magazine Terry Wahls, M.D., has used her personal battle with multiple sclerosis as a platform to research ways to help others.
I’m very excited to try these new flavors! I love Kevita probiotic drinks. And only 3 g added sugar for those wondering.

Vitamin K comes in 2 forms: vitamin K1 and vitamin K2. K2 can further be divided into MK-4 and MK-7. Both have been shown to benefit bone health, but MK-4 in a dose of 45mg/day has been shown to prevent fractures and improve bone strength in both post-menopausal women and those with osteoporosis. If you're curious about supplements, meet with an IFNCP functional nutritionist!
