Earlier this year, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment presented the Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) —which continues to carry on Day’s legacy—a Recording Industry Association of America GOLD RECORD AWARD for Doris' 1958 hits album. This title was originally certified gold in the USA on May 17, 1968 and has since sold millions of copies worldwide, remaining continuously in print in various formats for a staggering 65 years! 😲👏

What is Doris Day's best film? We adore 'Love Me or Leave Me' (1955) pairing Doris as torch singer Ruth Etting with James Cagney who plays her evil-tempered husband Martin Snyder. What a dramatic film with a thrilling No.1 hit soundtrack!

The picture received an impressive 6 Oscar nominations that included Best Actor (James Cagney), Best Song (I’ll Never Stop Loving You), Best Motion Picture Story and Best Screenplay. Doris' movie soundtrack album for the film also became her most successful LP staying on the American Billboard chart for a staggering 28 weeks!

Doris Day and James Garner's Special Friendship Revealed Doris Day and James Garner had a special friendship that would have resulted in a romance if it wasn't for timing, as he was already married to wife Lois.
