Sunday Funday.

And So, from April time in 2018, a pub in Hammersmith had heard my Quiz was doing good things around London, with the GNRT in Hornsey and the Admiralty in Trafalgar Square already proving a hit. I started 2018 after losing the Masons Arms in Battersea, but at the same time that I was sorting out a new quiz with the Anglers in Teddington, the Distillers came my new Sunday Hotspot!

Originally we had some very busy weeks as this music orientated pub with its vinyls on the wall and proud tradition of live music took in the mash ups, the play doh and everything else, but then summer came around and with the World Cup (And Love Island!), the numbers dropped dramatically! We then put in the Money or Honey jackpot which became a hit, and numbers started to go up again. We gave away: £600, £150, £450 and £350 within 5 months and as the year came around, we started to get a lot more regulars!

It wasn’t just the Sunday Quiz slot which was doing well, a few corporates upstairs in the Distillers were a blast too, and with Charity Nights and guest host nights, this quiz was a lot of fun. It isn’t always fun to give up a Sunday to work, but once in this pub, I forget about the Replacement rail buses, the getting out of weekend relaxing mode, and we have a lot of fun!
