A few important things✨

1- The next collection drop for my site will now be the 22nd of June!
This drop will be a mix of pieces, from rings to chokers!

This will be my first summer doing this market, and I’m SO excited to have been accepted into 6 of them, running from June - September!

3- I’ve been trying to post the last couple videos of my stacker ring series… but for some reason this app hates me right now🥲
and though I spend at least 30min or more editing each video, insta doesn’t save it or post it properly.

Not sure what’s up, but it’s becoming very frustrating, so all I can do is try again tomorrow. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was down and out this weekend with either food poisoning or a stomach bug, finally feeling a bit better today🙏🏻

I just got accepted to 6 local markets here through the summer, which I’m sooo excited for!

But just realized I leave next week for Ky, then only have a week before the first market once I get back.

The pressure is onnnnn! 😵‍💫😂

Medusa Coin Pendants🐍✨

Story time-
✨
There’s conflicting info on her ultimately tragic story on the web,

I’ve seen many sources say she fled to Athena’s temple from Poseidon, where he intruded and forced himself on her,

And versions that say she had actually returned the affection and loved him,

To me, the latter would make more sense then as to why Athena, often thought of as a Goddess of war, became enraged that Medusa entered her temple, and broke her chastity.

As Medusa was a priestess for Athena, and had taken a vow of celibacy, this was a big no-no either way it played out.

I also found many references that Athena and Poseidon (her uncle), didn’t get along. So that doesn’t help Medusa’s case either when they’re found out. 😬

Athena decides to punish Medusa by turning her (and her two sisters) into Gorgons.

She was said to have been incredibly beautiful, but thanks to Athena, her hair turned to venomous snakes, and she had the ability to turn men to stone from a single glance. 👀

Ultimately, Medusa was beheaded by Perseus.
I have a feeling this woman REALLY disliked the Greek Gods at this point😅

She is now something of a apotropaic symbol, with many believing her image has the power to ward off evil. 🧿

Her fatal beauty is nowadays seen as source of feminine rage, representing strength and survival after abuse and patriarchal oppression.

Greek mythology is so interesting to me, I’d love to create a Greek inspired collection sometime this year!

These pendants are , their texture really makes me feel like this is some Ancient Greek coin, and I’m sooo in love with how these 2 turned out!

I haven’t decided on chains yet,🤔

I think these will be part of the create-your-own charm necklace display I plan on creating for my in person events this year.✨

Can’t wait to create more coin pendants like this, maybe some with sapphires here soon🤩

Reclaimed Sterling Silver and Aquamarine 💙

I LOVE this piece!

The shape, the texture, the stone, I’m just really so happy with how it came out!✨

This was my FIRST real attempt at a new metal casting technique, called Sand Casting.

Essentially, you melt silver and pour it into sand😂

I worked on these allll day yesterday, determined to finish them.
And I know I say this about a lot of pieces,

But dang, I think these are my favorites🤩

Every component is handmade from sheet and wire, and these stones are just the prettiest color💜💙

My current gemstone obsession are aquamarines 💙

I have so many ideas for new pieces, and most are using blue stones, like these aquamarines, kyanites, and more turquoise.

I’ve also been waiting to create some clay jewelry displays to use in my booth through this summer’s art events,

And also have like 3 jackets I really want to embroider some cute stuff on 😅

On top of my brain just wanting to organize and declutter everythinggg lately! Haha

So I’ve kind of been stuck with analysis paralysis the past week, doing a little of this, a smidge of that.

Not really finishing an entire project.
And that’s okay.

It’s just how my brain works sometimes and I’ve been learning to give myself grace during these periods when I find it hard to focus on one specific project.

I’m going with the flow, and the flow is currently wanting me to design some fun aquamarine rings🥴 hahaha

Sooo after a dip in the hot springs in the morning (it’s kind of becoming a Sunday morning thing, and I’m loving it!) I think I’ll just let my creativity run wild and we’ll see what comes of it😂🤷🏼‍♀️
