We hope this message finds your summers going well. Your Booster Board has been working to get ready for what we anticipate will be a spectacular year. Among planning for special events like the Little Diamonds Clinic and looking for items to sell under the Friday Night Lights, we are also finalizing our committee positions.

We are looking for interested parents to fill critical committee chair roles for the 24/25 school year. As we stated in our last meeting we have a lot planned for this coming year, and we will need as much help as possible. The available positions and their descriptions are below:

Sponsorship Committee: This position will be responsible for the fulfillment and tracking of our (hopefully!) many sponsors. They are the communication conduit between the sponsors and the booster club.

Ways and Means: This position is responsible for the procurement of all material needs for the organization. This includes being the lead coordinator for sales and fundraising efforts.

Volunteer Coordinator: This committee is responsible for the assignment and scheduling of all volunteer requirements.

Spirit Committee: These parents will work closely with the Dance Team Social Officers to execute any spirit-related events or activities, including decorating for events.

Senior Committee: Open only to parents of senior students. This committee is responsible for all senior-specific efforts (I.e., senior sashes).

I hope everyone is having a good start to the summer. As we discussed in our last meeting, our Sponsor Drive is currently underway for the upcoming school year. Our goals for this year are ambitious and will require a lot of fundraising. Central to that fundraising effort is our sponsorship program.

Attached is our 2024-25 Sponsorship Packet. It contains all the information a business would need to enroll in our program. Pay close attention to the benefits a company gets by sponsoring the team.

What can you do? Spread the word. Forward this packet to any business owners that you know that may be interested in sponsoring. Print copies of this packet and start hitting local businesses in the area. Other organizations are already in full swing—so don’t delay. Any time you visit a local business inquire as to whether or not they support high school organizations. Ask family members if they have any interested businesses. Join up with fellow dancers and go on “sponsor runs” hitting multiple stops in an afternoon.

Thank you in advance for your efforts. Every dime we raise goes toward all events the team will participate in and will lower each family’s costs throughout the year. Don’t hesitate to contact your board with any questions.

Dance Family—just a reminder that the Kerr Screen Graphic T-Shirts are for parent purchase as well as for the dancers. You will need DHS-themed clothing to volunteer in the fall—why not get Dance-Themed?

Last reminder—Booster Meeting TONIGHT at 6:30 in the front classroom. Memberships will be open at the beginning of the meeting. Membership fee this year has been reduced to $30. Cash, check or credit will be accepted.

This is a reminder of our final Booster Meeting on Monday, May 20th in the front classroom by the learning staircase at 6:30. We will be voting on multiple important issues for the 2024/25 school year so please make every effort to attend.

Incoming freshman parents are HIGHLY encouraged to attend. We will be taking membership applications at the beginning of the meeting to allow for you to vote, and we really want to meet you!

Please take the time to review the minutes, new Bylaws, and Budget Summary (emailed directly)—all of which we will be voting on next Monday.

And that’s a wrap! An amazing end to the 2023/24 Dance Year. After countless hours of work the ladies put on an amazing show.

Congratulations especially to Nikki Perez and Ava Lucia Taglia for finishing the first ever four-year careers with the team. Thank you for your leadership and passion. The team you helped build is only just beginning but your legacies will carry on for many years. Good luck in your future endeavors!
