Thank you Tony! God bless and enjoy retirement!
This week we are featuring Chief of Police James A. "Tony" Reese, who started working for the Town in November 1999, and will retire this summer.
Chief Reese said his favorite aspect of his role here is "working with the community to identify and solve problems."
He was born and raised in Texas, and served in the United States Marine Corps. He holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate, and a general Instructor Certification in Criminal Justice Training and Standards. He is an adjunct instructor at Carteret Community College and Coastal Carolina Community College, and previously was an adjunct instructor at the North Carolina Justice Academy.
He has been married to his wife Cristy for 30 years, and the couple has two grown children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, oil painting, building, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Chief Reese, your leadership and guidance has been appreciated by all on the Town staff! Thank you for all you do.
