Bloody Mary Podcast
Bloody Mary is a podcast hosted by comic Kristin Lytie where we discuss everyone's favorite horror movie.
New episode out today with Chris Schlichting and Kristin Lytie discussing The Blair Witch Project. We chatted about the huge impact it had on horror and us!
New episode out today with Zach Peterson!!! In this episode Zach and I chat about the A24 film, It Comes at Night. We had a fun time discussing the balance between protecting one's own and creating community in times of chaos, the Triumph of Death, the red door and what it is specifically that comes at night. This movie is brutally nihilistic and quite the contrast to Zach, a delightfully charming comedian out of Omaha Nebraska. We also talked about what skills we individually would bring to the apocalypse. Spoiler- this liberal arts kid will starve.
Zach's new album, A List of Wet Celebrities, will be out in a few months. In the meantime you can check out more about him including tour dates- www.museumofuglyfathers.com/
His gift for naming things is something I truly admire.

The two of us chatted about the themes in Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil like how you can't judge a book by it's cover, college doesn't always make you smart and how important it is to find a partner that supports your dreams! Enjoy!
Happy Sunday! In honor of Gale Weathers please cut bangs. I did! In this episode I'm joined by Annie Russell to discuss Scream 3. I didn't realize this was the most hated of the Scream franchise! We don't get it. We loved it! We know there's a new writer but Parker Posey is a dream. Check it out!
In this episode I'm joined by Green Bay's own, Pete Andersen. Pete is also known as Tammi Truckstop who I first saw perform at Napalese Lounge's Comedy Cabaret. I was so blown away by his creativity, costuming, music choices and humor I knew I wanted to have him on Bloody Mary! We discussed Neon Demon, such a classic movie about witches and what it means to pursue your desires and dreams at all costs. This movie is beautifully packaged as an art house film but is truly brutal exploring necrophilia, cannibalism and more-- Enjoy!!
New episode of Bloody Mary out today with Jordan Morris and I discussing Evil! Jordan is one half of the podcast, Jordan, Jesse Go! and recently created the new Archie comics horror special that will be coming out later this week. Relive the early 2000's angst of Resident Evil with us! We had a wonderful time discussing corporate greed, unlocking our secret talents (just like Mila) and the best way to fight off zombie dogs.

Happy Sunday! Here's an early Valentine's treat- A new Bloody Mary featuring Natalie Wickman discussing Black Swan! Natalie is a former ballerina and current comedian. We chatted about Black Swan and discussed the evils of chasing perfectionism while pushing yourself, the physical toll of dance on the body and the Kids in The Hall. I think the scariest part of this movie was Natalie Portman's character becoming a sexual being in such close living proximity to her mother, but that's just me. Enjoy!
Happy Sunday! Celebrate with a new episode of Bloody Mary. In this episode I'm joined by Andy Iwancio who I met at the Altercation Comedy Festival in Austin, Texas in 2022. Andy is a comedian, DJ and writer out of Seattle, Washington. The two of us chatted about the War of the Worlds, haunted mirrors, Keith Raniere and what would lure us specifically into a windowless van. We also talked about body horror, trans identity and horror tropes. Andy is so knowledgeable about all things horror it was a total blast having her on the podcast! Her new EP- Hard Trans will be available soon with a full length album coming later this year!

Happy New Year! Start your year off right with a new episode of Bloody Mary. In this episode I'm joined by Los Angeles comedian and delightful goth, Virginia Jones. I met Virginia at this year's Altercation Comedy Festival down in Austin. Virginia and I reflected on 2022, seniority in comedy, the never ending story and how to tell if you are becoming a werewolf. A challenger of goth stereotypes Virginia is not a huge fan of horror so I was pleased she agreed to be on the pod. Enjoy!
Happy Monday! New episode of Bloody Mary Podcast out today! I'm joined by the hilarious Sammie James and it was such a treat to have a connoisseur of horror on the pod! Sammie is a comedian that hosts The Badass Trans Women of Comedy and The Waiting Room, a comedy show based on stories about our health and bodies. We loved this movie so much for the duality and complexity of all the characters, even the zombies. We also discussed being pro-candy corn, the power of Neil Diamond and God's Sledgehammer. Enjoy!
Enjoy your Sunday while listening to Jessica Misra and Kristin Lytie chat about Barbarian! Jessica hates horror movies and was duped into watching Barbarian by a friend who told her, "it was the funniest movie they'd ever seen." Honestly, this is probably the only way I'd get Jessica on the podcast so I'll take it! We chatted about Air B and B's, bidets, the Alternating Currents festival where we met and more!

Kicking off week two of Halloween with Sasha Rosser and I talking about Tokyo Gore Police. Sasha is a comedian and musician who regularly tours the country while also producing hit variety and comedy shows in Madison. Sasha picked Tokyo Gore Police and I gotta say I was blown away by how deep it was. I thought we were getting into a regular old splatter flick and boy was I wrong. We chatted about Vince Vaughn's intestines, sleepovers, the militarization of the police, and the importance of therapy and friendship bracelets.
It's the best time of the year and I've got so much planned for October! We're kicking off this month with Kaitlin McCarthy of the The Laughing Tap discussing The Autopsy of Jane Doe, a truly underrated film. There will be a new episode every week this month and a LIVE taping at Altercation Comedy festival in Austin featuring Jt Habersaat, Kate Willett and more! Enjoy!!!

Happy Friday- It's Emma Alice Johnson appreciation day! I'm super excited to have this horror aficionado on the pod! Emma is an author and conservationist living and reviving prairie preserves in Northern Wisconsin. We chatted about how outrage and censorship are often used to distract from larger, more important issues, being gals in the horror and punk rock communities and sexy green M&M's. Hope you enjoy it!

Happy Halloween--here's a new episode with Meg Indurti. Meg is a phenomenal comedian, researcher and writer. If you haven't read her pieces in the New Yorker I don't know what you're doing with your time-get on it! We discussed Meg's personal connection to the film, the sunken place as it relates to suppressing revolutionary fervor and the tension of covert racist aggression that Peele captures so perfectly in his critique of white liberals. Enjoy!
