JaJaJa Books

Bilingual Books with a Difference JaJaJa books would like to take you and your child on a learning experience within a story.

Not only will your child learn but you can learn with them. A child’s brain is like a little sponge soaking up information. Our books try to expose children at a young age to a new language, without them even realising they are learning. The stories are written predominantly in English with foreign language vocabulary popped in at the right place. Have a read -you will be surprised how much you pi

Really looking forward to working on book 2 with the The multi-schools council after the success of book 1! This one will focus on children’s mental health and school attendance.

I know it’s been a while but I’ve been working on a BIG personal project. It felt so good this week to get back to what I do and meet all the lovely students at Braxted Park for the ‘United in Diversity’ event with the The multi-schools council. I took a tonne of colouring in sheets but it ended up that all I needed was blank pieces of paper as all the children wanted to make beautiful book covers! I was astounded and inspired by their ideas for illustrations and titles. Think I need to watch out!

I must say a massive thank you to Metro Bank UK Colchester branch too who were so great to work with- especially Metro Man! I hope you all enjoyed it - a great way to kick off the Easter holidays.

More sad news 😞 I feel so honoured to have written stories about this wonderful badger and his friends. His legacy lives on and Christine and Mike continue to care for the others that regularly visit but there will always be a special place in my heart for dear Mr Lumpy 💔

I’m absolutely heartbroken about the loss of Jacqueline Gold. 10 years ago when I started my business she chose JaJaJa books as a winner of her WOW competition. I went on to win the yearly award which meant I got to meet Jacqueline and also her lovely sister and dad. All of them were truly inspirational and I never felt like it was a publicity stunt because she kept in contact, gave me advice and was so very lovely to me. I hope she’s at peace with her dad now. She leaves such a legacy.

I’m tired and I’ve got dinner on my top BUT I’m overjoyed to have received the first copy of our book ‘Maisie Manning’s Money Diary’!! What a way to end World Book Day. This diary style story is about the rivalry between a brother and sister who are trying to earn the most pocket money from chores. The book includes lots of money making schemes and real world maths. It even has space at the back for children to write their own business plan! BootzMama has drawn some wonderful illustrations throughout to explain everything. Details of our book launch to follow and copies can be found on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Maisie-Mannings-Money-Diary-Genevieve/dp/B0BW2H5NVT/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=3VH09AXCAWTTF&keywords=maisie+mannings+money+diary&qid=1677792493&sprefix=maisie+mannings%2Caps%2C81&sr=8-2

Had a fantastic school visit to Willow Brook today for mental health week. They listened to ‘Sam and the Spider’ and then made their own emojis for how they were feeling today - artwork to follow!

Had the loveliest catch up today with the African Families in the UK - afiuk CIC. We met Grandad Sam who will be reading our stories to children at their new hub in town and we ate delicious African buns! It’s a wonderful place offering all sorts of facilities including a private area for breast-feeding and an activity area for little ones. Looking forward to being more involved!

We absolutely loved supporting the The multi-schools council talent show on Saturday. The acts were fantastic and showed such bravery! Make sure you pop onto their page to see some of the incredibly, talented participants.

I am so very proud to announce that this book will be available very soon! Kierran and the The multi-schools council have done a fantastic job in bringing together a book which includes an incredible amount of tools and ideas for teaching children with SEN. An essential for any teacher! I felt very honoured to help bring this book together. Watch this space for further information on when it goes live.

Exciting times! We are working on a new book with an expected launch at the beginning of next year. It’s a short, funny, diary style book aimed at 8-12 year olds with a theme of saving money. BootzMama has designed two sketches for the front cover but we are not sure if colour or pen style is best. What do you think?? (Ignore the titles for now!!)

As an author, I love to read books with my 8 year old daughter. She still sometimes enjoys me reading a page or two to her which I know I’ll miss when it stops. I was very intrigued however by this Famous 5 book that she brought home from school. As a child with an active imagination, I was particularly pleased about her reading the chapter - ‘a face at the window’ 🤣🤣Thoughts and comments please on the below!
