Proud of our very own Mitch Ridder. Great job on the assignment.

Class Photo Assignment (Photo 200 with Ryan Even): To chose, learn and then emulate the shooting process and look of a leading photographer. I chose Joel Grimes, known for his highly stylized athlete, fashion and celebrity portraits. Grimes takes two photos for every image - First he shoots his athletes in studio under controlled lighting, then he shoots his backgrounds separately and later composites the two together, using Photoshop. I worked in coordination with the Saddleback Athletic Department to shoot two athletes and gain access to the gym and locker room after hours.

Hey guys! I know we've been pretty silent for a while, and we apologize.
At the moment, we are having difficulties in our department. The construction of our photography studio has been postponed, extended, put on hold, etc., and it is starting to affect our class schedule. Students who have paid for studio lighting/portrait classes are not able to utilize the space that they have paid for. With no studio space, the classes have been affected, and our students are no longer able to drop the class or get a refund. This is not fair to you! You have paid your class/student fees! It has come to the point that we need to voice our concerns as students.
Below is the link to contact the Dean of Arts for Saddleback. Please help us in getting our room finished so that we can get our students back on track.

There have been talks about having an art show for an art walk in San Clemente. If interested, just shoot us a message, comment down here, or just walk into LRC 102 and let Ryan know. OR, talk to JIM in the lab room.
