Touching Planets
Planets Venus and Jupiter are almost "touching" each other at the bottom of this early morning image from May 1st, 2022. Mars and Saturn line up above 🪐. Hope you enjoy the view of this rare alignment 💫
The World at Night - TWAN
Right now Ukrainian children, women and men are not looking at the sky with hope, wonder and curiosity. Instead, they fear that rockets, bombs and shells fired by russian army will be the last thing they see.
Please do what you can and lobby your governments to close the sky above Ukraine and help restore peace.
Close the sky above Ukraine🇺🇦 Every hour of debates about closing the Ukrainian sky results in hundreds of civilian deaths.I can't imagine how the leaders who have the power to act but do...
Comet Leonard Close-up
Comet Leonard was certainly a highlight of December 2021 and I managed to snap this image through a larger telescope. The view through the eyepiece was spectacular too.

New Year's Comet
Comet Leonard over the sky glow of Melbourne, shot from central Victoria on the New Year's nght.
Comet Leonard and an unexpected Aurora
Comet Leonard continues to amaze and I was lucky to see it naked eye with just a hint of a tail from Mornington Peninsula, 70km south-east of Melbourne on Dec 27, 2021.
An Aurora arrived completely unexpectedly and livened up the time lapse.
Comet Leonard in moonlight
Rising full Moon illuminated the nearby hills as comet Leaonard was setting on 20th of December 2021. Bright "star" on the right is planet Saturn.
Hope you enjoy the view!
Total Lunar Eclipse above Sydney Opera House
Red Moon looked stunning next to Scorpius at Sydney Opera House! Great atmosphere, plenty of excited photographers and passers by. This wide angle image shows the scene quite closely to what I observed visually.
I hope you enjoy the view too!
