In the world of special education, the importance of teamwork is well recognised, especially when it comes to providing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) services for students. This recent study shines a light on the crucial role of Special Education Teachers (SETs) working in special education settings in Ireland during a period of significant change in services.
This study highlights the value professionals place on team collaboration, even when they feel it can be inconsistent or non-existent in current practice.
Facilitators to collaboration identified included:
