We fostered 4 puppies from an encampment in ABQ. 21 puppies were taken from this encampment.

There was one puppy who decided we were her family. Bonnie decided Annabelle needed to be a part of our family.

Okay, I need help/guidance. While Wyatt and I were at the vet today, Dr. Amanda stated Wyatt could had a 3D prothesis leg made. Since Wyatt refuses to use his cart, I’m thinking this prothesis might be what we need to give him a better quality of life. Has anyone heard of this or know who I can contact? We just want what will help this stubborn cuss.

Della has been suffering from itchiness. When I talked to the vet on Wednesday she suggested we try Apoquel. I’m leery on giving my girl something new. Has anyone of our Chicy family given their pups Apoquel? What are your results. It’s my girl Della and I want want the good and bad of this drug

Normally it’s Merlin that creates this kind of havoc with the toilet paper. We need to reconsider who the culprit is as it’s usually Merlin who creates this mess. Merlin was hunkered underneath Wyatt’s warming blanket. My friend Grace said we need a nanny cam and I think she is right.

I’m thinking Flynn is looking at me with love and adoration or totally judging me. Verdict is still out. What do you think?

It truly is never long enough.

LOL! I went to make the bed this morning and this is what I find. Allison loves the flannel sheets and the Sherpa blanket. The Sherpa blanket is amazing; we need no other blanket to keep us warm.

Tonight we watched Holiday Inn, Miracle on 34th Street, It’s A Wonderful Life and Christmas with the Kranks. What is your favorite holiday movie?

My kitty Flynn brought me a plethora of gifts today. The second photo is what he brought me this morning and the third photo is what he brought me this evening (all gifts were taken from the clothes hamper). Does your cat bring you gifts?

We are decorating for Halloween. This is the beginning of our decorations. I have another feathery decoration that will complement these flowers and pumpkins. I will need to separate the feathers separately as the glitter is off the charts. Stay tuned for the finished product 😃

Today is National Black Dog Day. I’m going to share our quiet Wyatt and Angels Chewy and Jacks. It’s sad that black dogs are usually the last dogs to be adopted. Not in this household. We never discriminate because of color (dogs, cats or people). Please share photos of your pups ❤️

Our weather has finally turned, for the better 😄. WOO HOO 🧡🤎💛🍃🍂🍁 We will make sure Wyatt is always comfortable and warm until Spring is here again.

Flynn decided he wanted to share my tiny foot stool. I can tell you Lugosi was not pleased and hissed at his brother. At some point I will be able to use MY foot stool.

Lugosi loves laying on my little foot stool. Sometimes I think he is saying “na na na boo boo I have your footstool “ What you don’t see is his tail swishing. Did I mention he can be a little jerk sometimes.

Sadly the fires in Canada are impacting the air quality in the US. Last I saw the air quality is diminished as far south as Iowa in the Midwest and Tennessee on the east coast. Here are a few tips you can take to keep your pets safe during these air quality issues.

This is great information to know and have especially with the heat wave hitting this country and abroad.

HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of throwing cold water on an overheated dog or putting a wet towel on his back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to the cold, the veins contract and due to the high temperature (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood clot, which makes the blood thick and viscous.
Due to the combination of the two, the heart can no longer get the blood and the organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.

The result is a very slow but very painful death.
If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, he will still die.

First give lukewarm water to drink, then cool the soles of the feet and chest/lower abdomen with a damp towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a damp towel!!

Sharing is highly desirable because again and again we see images of overheated dogs getting out of a car with water poured on their backs ❎
