Meet the beautiful, aspiring fashionista, trendsetter and fashion designer Sai-Ann Sultan, who was born on 18th November 1990, in the southern part of the twin Island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. One look at any
of her designs and you immediately get a sense of professionalism, determination and artistic flair driven by a steely sense of purpose. That purpose? To bring out the BEAU in women. A profound sense of Beauty, with undercurrents of Elegance, fueled by Ambition to make the best YOU. By showing women that they possess all the God-given gifts to boldly step with head perched squarely on strong shoulders, she won’t stop till her mission is complete. From intrinsic floral prints to relaxed pastels; angular cuts and ‘geo-trini’ impressions, Sai ann continuously draws inspiration from several sources: her own past, fraught with obstacles, the duality in nature and even the latest trends are thrown into the mix. The petit Princess Town vixen’s sharp eye for design and knowing what she personally feels comfortable in while remaining stylish her own gift, one she strongly wishes to share. Even though her designs show a greater sense of maturity and direction, there was a time not far in the distant past where she herself was highly unsure of her own personal path. ‘I wanted to be so many different things growing up almost to the point I seemed confused. Growing up there was always someone telling me what they think I should become or what was best for me. But strangely, it never felt as if it WAS about me.’ Thankfully she embraced her artistic self and embraced the path less defined. But don’t for one minute think that this lass is all about pairing the right accessories with her creations. With a solid degree in English Language and Literature and a background in Management the Sciences and Economics, this self-described bookworm is anything but quiet and laid-back. With several years as an Events Planner, co-ordinator, artist and model, she has a very solid head on her own shoulders, framed by a dark mane of luxuriant curls. Now poised to release BEAU, this young designer plans to show that playful youth can walk experienced grace and poise. ‘When do most women feel the most beautiful? When they feel loved, when they can walk with confidence, secure, with a sense of purpose.’ And BEAU will make that a reality.
