If I could send only one blog post back in time to my younger self, it would be today’s.
As we so often discuss, I was one of those people who wasn’t truly prepared for adulthood or moolah. Savings. Investing. Finding ease with $$$. That didn’t exist in my house. Add in a career choice or two that wasn’t exactly traditional or guaranteed a consistent paycheck – and the learning curve for financial independence was steep.
But over the last 4 years, I’ve invested in a higher education in all things $$$. And there is a lot to be learned. Moolah like dieting and health is filled with a LOT of opinions. People will give you all kinds of advice for what you should or shouldn’t be doing with your money. This isn’t that post.
It is however the tools that would have transformed my life 10 years ago. These are the tools that can empower you to start making changes now and don’t require an advanced degree. They will also help you develop the relationship you need with $$$ to continue to grow into the wealthiest most supported version of yourself. Truthfully, these are the tools that have changed my life.
5 Books To Read If You’re Ready To Take Money More Seriously - What Savvy Said This is the post that I would mail back in time to my 16-year-old self with the essentials. 5 books you need to read about money
For years, I told myself that my first luxury purchase would be a pair of Louboutins. I’d eyed them for years on my favorite celebrities - red carpet looks, late night tv appearances - there was just something about the red sole heel that felt like a statement of next level to me. So when I finally invested in my first pair in 2021, I was a bit shocked by my reaction after trying them on....
Are Louboutin Heels Worth The Investment? - What Savvy Said Louboutin heels are iconic for a reason. But are they really worth the investment and upkeep? Let's dig into it!
I will never forget the conversation. The moment. The impact it had on younger me the first time I was required to sit with a nutritionist. To be honest, I didn’t handle it well when I was pulled aside in middle school and the word “obesity” was dropped. Fear. Anger. Confusion. All of the emotions that can be overwhelming at any age gathered together to create this moment of terror....
How To Work With A Nutritionist After Diet Culture Today Savvy share's her experience working with a functional nutritionist and building a healthy relationship with food.
As soon as the dates for Bridgerton season 3 were announced, there was never a doubt in my that we would be throwing our own Bridgerton Tea Party. I mean really, we've waited so long it felt like an international holiday at this point. But as a girl who has dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy-free life), I knew that our tea party needed to blow all the others I'd experienced out of the water....
How To Throw Your Own Bridgerton Tea Party - What Savvy Said Because the new season means it's time for you to plan your own Bridgerton Tea Party. Today Savvy shows you how easy it is to plan your own!

Summer is nearly upon and with it comes the dreaded search for summer shorts. In the past, I would have simply assumed that this year would be the same. I would search high and low only to find that a. nothing looked right. b. nothing was comfortable and c. nothing really worked for pear-shaped bodies. My oh my how I'm THRILLED to be proven wrong....

In the last six years, I’ve been the girl who healed her hormonal acne naturally, the girl who decided to become a fashion blogger, the girl who has shared all sorts of life moments on the internet- but the last thing I wanted to be was the girl who gained weight. Again. It could be a generational thing or even an age thing but our relationships with our bodies are complicated, constantly evolving, and regularly influenced by sources outside us....
How To Stop Hating Yourself Because You Hate Your Body - What Savvy Said Embracing body neutrality and diving into a long overdue chat about how to stop hating yourself because you hate your body.
Why influencers matter - and no this is not about how much they make
When I was a little girl, you either fell into one of 2 camps.
1. You saw someone in tv, movies or on magazines and thought I look like her. I feel valuable. I feel seen. I feel important.
2. You couldn’t point to a single person who was represented in media in a way that equated with a feeling of validation.
Now obviously this applies to A LOT of humans, skin tones, genders, etc.
But the point is - we believe things are possible for us because we see they are possible for someone else.
And who we choose to like, follow, support, cheer on, and more has an impact.
So why am I saying this to you? Why does this even matter?
Because sometimes I think we forget just how powerful we are as content consumers.
We drive the algorithms. We get to engage with the people we want to see more of in the world. And we can choose to do so in a way where it has a true impact.
The stories that are told in the world have ripple effects beyond the one photo, video and so on in the world.
And you, the person scrolling and reading this, have the power to change the narrative of what you believe is possible for your life but what future generations get to believe.
So on a day where you might question the value of social media or forget just how far we still have to go, I hope you remember.
You hold the power of the future in your hand.
Use it wisely.
Body image check in 💕
I think for many of us we have such complicated relationships with our bodies. We are so desperate to be free of the struggle that it can be hard to admit we’re struggling.
We want to love our bodies but we also hate them.
We want to respect our bodies but we’re still working on finding a healthy relationship with food that isn’t constantly challenged by outside sources.
We want a different future for ourselves and it’s a challenge daily in the journey of creating that.
So much of 2024 this far has been about healing the idea of love for me. Unconditional love. The kind of love where I’m seen beyond the outside presentation.
And truthfully, it’s a lot.
But one day at time we figure it out. One day at time we learn to reframe the thoughts that keep us in the place where we struggle to care for our bodies in the way that’s right for us.
We find our own way. We create our own path.
And in the mean time, you’re not alone.
It’s okay to want to make changes. It okay to feel the sadness when you see something that isn’t about what you see in the mirror now but an accumulation of the person who was struggling to take care of herself.
You’ll found your way to the other side of so many things and you’ll learn from this too.
Xoxo,
Savvy

I know for many of us, there are two major fashion/clothing concerns coming our way:
Bathing suits and shorts
I’m very focused on getting my hands on as many things as possible to give you a comprehensive guide.
But I’d love to hear from you.
What do you feel like the hardest part of shopping for either shorts or swimsuits is? Finding them locally? Feeling confident? The fit? Not knowing how to style them or make them look good on your body?

Your girl has been grounded - temporarily. Which is good news for those of you who wish I’d share more flats 😂 so let’s talk about my favorites at the moment (that also happen to be budget friendly) and the ones I would buy again this spring
1. Ballet flats - my saving grace and one of my favorites for the outfits that just need an easy option
2. Woven mules - I’ve been wearing a version of these every spring/summer for the last 5 years
3. Sandal chic - I bought them in black & white. I was surprised by the cushioning inside. No rubbing. No blisters. Just a great budget friendly shoe.
4. White Sneakers - the easy slide on when you don’t want the fuss of a full sneaker and you also need a little support. I tried these as well as some more pricey options and have been impressed with just how much I love them.
5. Hoka Bondi 8 - I have high arches and tried all the shoes on my journey as a runner to find an option that helps me avoid shin splints. These are my go to - like I have them in 3 colors
6. APL (see first slide) - I love how flat these are for weighted workouts. It really helps me ground my feet and focus on form + mind/muscle connection. I also own 2 colors.

I love you. But I’m not available to be your punching bag 💕
It’s festival season in Florida aka the time of the year when tourism is lighter and more pop-up events are happening. This month (Feb 1st- March 31st) you can enjoy what is an unexpected and pleasant surprise in Destin, Florida: SeaLight Festival.
But let’s talk more about what you can expect, how to plan for your evening out and all of the other most know details about this eye-catching cultural display.

Outfits that have me excited to get back into the gym again (and also back on my running game) 💪🏻
1. I’m a sucker for an Amazon top. Something easy, affordable and keeps my skin protected if I’m running or helps with the sweat in the gym.
2. There are a very few things that I will buy in every color. But my leggings are the exception to this rule. *i personally find the leggings without patterns hold the compression band better over time*
3. Hoka Bondi 8 is my go to running shoe (as someone with high arches and prone to shin splints). But APL have been my best friend for weight days because I can really grip the ground with my feet.
Who else has a fitness goal this year?
Here are some Instagram hashtags you could use for your post:
As a former natural blonde now bleached blonde girlie, I’ll never forget the winter when I realized my hair was starting to look like a mullet. No matter what I did I couldn’t manage an even hair length past my shoulders. And I was dejected.
I tried everything I could think of to fix it: regular trims, stopping the white blonde, going for a darker color, doing no color. And the experiment led me back to one place: Olaplex doesn’t work for me.

To heel or not to heel? That is the question.
*there was changes I would make to look 2 (jacket and maybe a thin belt) but we work with what we’ve got

If I could go back and have a conversation with my teenage self, I’m sure there are many things I would say. Don’t trust that boy. Someday you’ll realize that style is an individual experience (and something you get to create). And if you can learn anything, learning to love yourself without conditions is the most challenging, rewarding, and powerful thing you can do for you.
Over the years, we’ve spoken a bit about weight loss, loving yourself, and finding peace in your body on the blog. In truth, it’s a lifelong process: healing new bits one peeled-back layer at a time. But recently, given my job and what I’ve decided to call into my life in this next season - it’s felt like a freight train I didn’t expect to encounter.
So let’s take a peak into what I’m calling my season of learning to love myself without conditions. To do it messy. To show up when it’s not perfect. And to be able to find a new love for yourself that you didn’t even know you needed.

Happy New Years Eve friends! I can’t wait for a fresh start and a new year of possibilities! 💕🎉🎀
Items I would never buy again because they are just the *worst*
1. The Abercrombie mini skort / it couldn’t possibly be the best winter wardrobe investment (so I bought it in 2 colors)
2. A corset top that makes me feel like an ⏳👸🏼 - who would want to look and feel that 🔥
3. A lounge wear dress that lets me be lazy but also look snatched to perfection / while being comfy
4. Straight leg denim / because I’m only allowed to wear skinny jeans for the rest of my life I have *curves*
5. This pink coat / I want possibly look like a life size Barbie, style it with all the looks or make people SO excited when they see it out
6. A cashmere classic / why would I ever want a light winter staple in all the colors?
7. My perfect slip dress / because I should have the spend the rest of my life trying to make all the wrong ones work?
