Tonight TND in Fozzys Bar Registration from 8pm Onwards hoping to do the draw from 8 30 pm The Last chance for Pre All ireland Intercounties warm up for those who are going. All players are welcome old or new and no matter what standard you are Come along and see how ya get on. 10 euro entry or 5 euro for ladies and youths. Really hoping for good numbers.

So last Tuesday we had the return of TND and a respectable 20 players played on the 1st night. The semi final Lineup was very solid with Travel Partners John Leonard and Ken Lemasney facing each other with John prevailing and Our other semi final between Recently crowned all ireland Team and singles champion Keanan Norris and highly experienced waterford player Billy O Mahoney facing off with Keanen taking the spoils.

For anyone who's followed keanen Norris in recent years ye all know he has been improving all the time and last Tuesday night in the final he produced an incredible level of scoring and finishing which John leonard tried everything to stop but just couldn't keep up.

This is not a negative on John's game as he was also on superb form in this final but keanan just had that bit extra when needed. The 4-1 final scoreline was probably harsh on John but With keanan having a final average of 92 that's very difficult to beat.

Thanks to Fozzys bar for having everything set up on the night and we welcome everyone back to fozzys this Tuesday again for another night of top darts and perfect practice for the upcoming All Ireland Intercounties

Also thanks to Daniel Hayde for marking the final and doing the presentations also and Matt Heffernan for Keeping things goin on the night along with Paddy also.

ITS FINALLY BACK

GAME ON

TITLE GOES SHANNONSIDE

Well what can we say but what a night we had for The Tommy Lonergan Memorial Cup&Shield last night held in Fozzy's. After 26 months away it was never going to be easy to predict the numbers that would attend but the dart players in this country certainly didn't let us down with a huge crowd of 61 players in attendance. It was to be a straight knockout competition with the losers of the first round entering the shield competition.

There was to be some very exciting ties that would go the distance and we were treated to some big finishes along with plentiful 180s. Right from the start though two players were beginning to stand out and would be both Michael Flynn and Niall Culleton who would battle their way to the final. We had some surprises along the way with Tom Arnold showing his credentials reaching the QFs. However the big surprise package was local player Pj Hanrahan who claimed some big scalps along the way in reaching the semi final were he would go down to the eventual winner in Michael Flynn. Jason Bolger r/up in 2019 would fall at the semi final hurdle this time when losing out to Niall Culleton. Graham Bell was another who was to have a good night when his run was halted at the QF stage. Jamie Grant was another who lost out in the QFs but again it was another good run for him. Kieran Lennon would lose out also in the QFs stage... Jason Bolger would never get going in his semis against Niall Culleton but it was Nialls 109 c/o that was the highlight when he finished on Bull s9 Bull. Michael Flynn just proved a step to far for possibly player of the tournament in Pj Hanrahan. The final although it seemed a one-sided affair was anything but that. At one leg each Flynn would get an early break and he never looked back from there. A few missed doubles by Culleton were punished by the outstanding Michael Flynn and try as hard as Niall Culleton did it would be Flynn who would come out on top on a 6-1 scoreline..

The Shield was of a very high standard also and in our semis Corks Darren O Mahoney who had a pulsating win over Lorcan O Donovan in the QFs when c/o 100 with 20 Tops Tops would eventually lose out to the evergreen Keith Geraghty. Our other semis was an all Clonmel affair with Mick O Connell seeing off a resurgent Noel Hannigan who it was great to see back playing the game. The final while again proving a big margin of a win was actually another game that had the highest standard but in the end it would be the experience of Keith Geraghty a multiple Irish international who would claim the shield with a 4-0 victory....

It was a credit to every player that attended the tournament. To say that we were overwhelmed is an understatement. Once again members of the Lonergan family were in attendance to to present the trophies. Tommy's brother Niall Lonergan thanked all players and organisers for helping in remembering his brother. I would like to thank everyone who helped out on the night especially my wife Christina, Daniel Hayde, Matthew Heffernan, Gerry O'Hara and Joseph O Donoghue. Big thanks to the staff of Fozzy's especially Pamela Hannigan who had everything under control and a big thank you to Mary Claire who kindly sponsored the trophies and had the venue in top shape for us...

It was just brilliant to have darts back once again and what a way it was to kick it off again with the fourth Tommy Lonergan Memorial Cup. Once again we would say well done to all our winners. Special mention once again to two of the best amateur players in the country right now in our r/up Niall Culleton and our winner Michael Flynn. I've no doubt that in a short few years the term amateur will be away from these two players as no doubt they have the talent to claim Pdc tour cards. Well done again to everyone and we look forward to next year's competition already.
