We are having a pyjama day for world book Day along with the children bringing their favourite bed time story. Can we ask that they wear shoes as normal because we access outdoor play every day, rather than slippers :) thank you!!
Can't wait to see you all!
This is also the last week of our page :( boooo! But we have a brand new Drongan Primary school and ECC app you can download, the letters got given out this afternoon and morning will get given out tomorrow :) we will be posting the same sort of stuff on the new app. Thanks so much to everyone who has followed/liked our page!! You are all fab :)
Please have a read at this folks! And please be very vigilant of your children just now on iPads/tablets/computers. Children at nursery age may not be able to read yet (if these messages from MOMO are being typed anyway, they might actually be spoken audibly) but they can have nightmares of this image of the girl as well
A dangerous online game called MOMO is targeting children on social media. It instructs children to do dangerous tasks and a disturbing character threatens them with violence if these are not done.
Please be vigilant, make sure your childβs device is set up safely and encourage them to report anything they see online that scares or worries them.
*** We now have a date for 3 year olds nursery registration! From today 25th February till the 8th March ***
Registration will take place in the parent room, just ask the staff in the office beforehand for any help :) thanks
Just a reminder that tomorrow is the blue groups bookbug session in the quiet area of the rainbow room (3-5 room) :) the mornings bookbug session starts at 9.00am and the afternoon is 12.45pm. Thank you!! Look forward to seeing you all! Story sacks will be chosen afterwards in the parent room. Thanks!! :)
***NEW RHYME***
Our new rhyme of the fortnight is on the board, it's Jack and Jill :) we have extra copies in the slot here, feel free to take one :) we do have a small booklet to get out to every child that has all copies of up coming rhymes. We hope to get that done this week! We have a new recording as well!! The blue group singing Jack and Jill :)
Hello! Hope you all have had a lovely wee February break :) remember this week is our progress meetings for your child/children, if you can try catch their key workers for some last minute time slots. Can we ask that the red group return their story sacks this week also :) So we can get them in and ready for the blue groups turn. We hope the red group have enjoyed them! Blue groups turn starts *Tuesday the 26th February* and kicks off with a bookbug session in the quiet area of the rainbow (3-5) playroom. Letters to follow for that :)
Don't forget...
Our lending Library is available Monday- Friday in the parent room for you and your child to chose a book to borrow and then simply return and you can chose another :)
Can we ask that if anyone has books (that suit 2-5 years of age) that your child/children have outgrown or maybe have more than 1 of, could they possibly be donated to your lending library :) that way we can have it fully stocked as much as we can. It would be a massive help :) thank you!
Lastly, our communication champions are piloting an initiative called 'Wee talk' and have made a survey to help along with this, we will be looking for some parents to help with this. We will keep you updated, it's coming soon.
*** Feel free to share to this post ***
This week we are thinking about questions! β

As well as a Thursday 2-4, there is an additional day and times. Till the end of march :)
*** LOOK OUT FOR.. ***
Hi folks :) We have child progress meetings coming up with your child's keyworker after the February holiday (week beginning 18th). Please look at where your child's sign in register is and you can chose a time slot on the sheet that suits you :) if they are taken or it doesn't suit, speak to the keyworker and we can arrange something :) thank you!
Has anyone taken a pair of girls black Paton shoes with them from the nursery? A wee girls has went missing. Possibly from the nursery. Thanks :)
A wee reminder this is the last week for the red group to chose their third lot story sacks. We are off all next week for the February holiday. If they can be returned after the holiday (week beginning 18th) in preparation for the blue group starting their story sacks on the 26th. That would be fantastic! We hope the children and yourselves have enjoyed using them and we have loved the feedback and some pictures that have been brought in. Thank you!! :D
Our new rhyme of the fortnight is Incy wincy spider! Copies of this are on the communication board if you don't know it or would prefer a visual copy, feel free to take one. You can press the button on our recording pod to hear it from the children's lovely singing voices :)
How amazing is our burns/Scottish display from the past 2 weeks?! Some of the children could put Steven Brown to shame with their own copies at just age 4!! Well done boys and girls! The tartan prints are fantastic too
Tomorrow is the first week down for the red group story sacks :) thanks to those who brought some back today, once they are brought back the can be exchanged for another :) our lending library is also open tomorrow. It can be found in the parent room, you and your child can borrow a book and return it when you're finished :)
We are very low on spare clothes at the minute unfortunately, if anyone has had a Christmas clear out of boys and girls clothes between 2-5 years that we could have, that would be fantastic! The only thing we don't accept is pants.
Thank you!!
All stocked up for tomorrow for Burns day snack :) the children are welcome to wear something tartan although it's not a necessity :) we will see you bonnie bairns tomorrow!!
Does anyone recognise this cat? It loves sitting at the door of the nursery (has done for the past three days) and it got as far as into the foyer this morning. The children loved seeing and talking about it and it was out to play with them this morning. No harm done. Lovely wee thing :)
A wee reminder that tomorrow is the red group's bookbug session and then story sack choosing. Bookbug is tomorrow only at 9.00am for the morning group and 12.45 for the afternoon group. Parents and children are then welcome to choose a story sack in our family room after the bookbug session. Bookbug will last around 20 minutes (in our quiet area in the playroom) and will be done by our community/family practitioner Helen and red group keyworker Shelley will be there also. Hope you and your children enjoy! See you tomorrow. Thanks!
This week we are thinking about attention and listening π
Often we ask children to attend and listen, but don't show them what we expect from them. Using visuals to show 'whole body listening' can help children to understand what you mean.
We have a few posters of our story sack rota up on display. This starts for the red group firstly on the 22nd of January (this Tuesday coming) the red group got their letters today. It starts off with a bookbug session if you would like to attend with your child ( younger siblings welcome) and then you and your child can choose a story sack to take home for a week and then return the Monday or Tuesday, you can then chose another 2 in the same way and return them each week till week 3 - if you like, you could keep one for 3 weeks, its entirely up to yourselves. We are in the process of printing these communication newsletters to every child and group :) so you all have a copy of this. It contains what our role is, our lending library and the upcoming rhymes of the fortnight. Rhyme of the fortnight will kick into action starting next week ( it has been on the communication board for a week already but no harm if you have already been doing it with your child :) ) we will be giving out small copies of this to everyone soon, along with the rest of the upcoming ones, so you know ahead. Slightly larger copies of rhyme of the week are on the communication board Polly pocket along with other useful information in the other Polly pocket :) Apologies for the lengthy post! We like to keep you in the loop and a lot is happening at one time. If you have any queries, please speak to Shelley or Pamela and we can help. Thank you so much!
