2024 Payne Music Studio Spring Recital 💐🎹💐

Before each recital, I go through the awards my students have earned with their participation in festivals and music tests from the past year, and I'm always blown away by their growth and successes.

This year, I have 4 seniors graduating 🥹 it has been wonderful to see them blossom as people and musicians over the years I've taught them. I am excited to see them go on and do great things, but I will miss seeing them each week!

Two of my seniors were awarded the KMTA Patricia Byrn Memorial Scholarship, and I was able to present it to one of my students today at the Seven Lakes High School Senior Awards. I love all my students, but this one just happens to also be my sister, so it was very special to give it to her today ❤️ Congratulations to Brigham and Ahnyka on earning these scholarships!

🎵 Spring Festival 2024 🎵

14 of my students took on the challenge of learning and memorizing not one, but 2 pieces to play for a judge at the KMTA Spring Festival on April 6th. I am so proud of each of them for their hard work and dedication! It is a big deal to prepare two pieces to such a high level and get feedback from a judge.

Congratulations to Ahnyka, Anika, Arjun, Benjamin, Calvin, Claire, Eddie, Eliza, Ella, Eva, Olivia, Rebecca, Spencer, and Suyash for a job well done!

Tonight I got to teach an Online Training Session on Legato Fi*****ng Technique for the BYU Organ Department. I LOVE teaching, and I have a special place in my heart for teaching large groups of beginning organists. 670 people registered for the session! I get choked up when I think about how many people want to learn how to improve their organ playing skills so they can bless their congregations through the music they share each Sunday ❤️

I'm so grateful for the life my husband and I have built and that I get to keep doing what I love musically/professionally while getting to love and teach this tiny human too 🥰🥰

Proud of all these wonderful students and their performances! It's a busy, but wonderful time of year, and I'm grateful for a chance to pause the craziness for an hour and have them share their pieces with each other and their families ❤️

A little glimpse into life as a musician mom: pumping while practicing while spending time with Eleanor during a break between students ❤️ grateful for my family's support in doing what I love!

Halloween Group Class tonight was full of spooky music, giggles and music bingo with these fun and talented students 🎃 Happy Halloween!

Christmas music season has officially begun! Every year, members from the Katy Stake and Epiphany get together and put on a Christmas concert. Tonight was the first rehearsal of the season. I love getting to accompany this choir ❤️ as a bonus, my sister comes up and sits with me during rehearsal so we can spend more time together 😊 I'm going to miss her next year when she's off at college!!

The KMTA Sonatina Festival is today! I held a dress rehearsal for the event last night. These wonderful students are going to do great!

The Epiphany choir season started back up tonight and Eleanor got to come with me to rehearsal! She loved to move to the music when I was pregnant with her and it is sweet to see her enjoy it now ❤️

So good to be back making music with the choir!
