Sports photography has always been my first love in photography and with all the emphasis on the Olympics I thought I would share this video on one of my favorite races, the Daytona 24 Hr by one of my favorite motorsports photographers, Jamie Price for a BTS look at the 38 hr workday of covering the race. Even without credentials this is a great race for photographers as you will see in many cases the fans are only a few feet behind the pros and for most of the race there parent many at that location.

Photographing the olympics is a sports photographers dream but it is far from a casual undertaking and moving more Ito the realm of corporate photographers. Getty Images has a staff of 160 people at the games, 60 photographers, 40 editors plus staff. Credentials are requested two years in advance and lodging a year in advance.

The major camera companies all are represented with millions of $$ in loaner equipment and deadlines are often during the event and within minutes of the end of the event. It is not uncommon for photographers to be doing their tenth Games.
