Solo travel vs. small group travel?

As much as I love solo travel, I also love sharing amazing experiences and connecting with other travelers!

I believe travel should be satisfying and rewarding — not exhausting.

It’s about slowing down and connecting — not checking a landmark off your list.

As such, I’ve created the Marvels & Tastes of the Dolomites 🏔️ tour for travelers who want to spend some time in one of the destinations I love the most in a small group setting without worrying about any details or planning.

If this sounds like you, click the link in my bio to sign up and receive a discount of $300 on this trip with code SAVE300.

I can’t wait to Tour northern Italy with you! 🇮🇹

Kilmartin Glen • Scotland • Wander Your Way 05/03/2024

Kilmartin Glen is an amazing site in Scotland. Yet it’s not a well known site with many travelers. Which is too bad. Because it's truly special. Stone circles, burial cairns, standing stones as well as a sacred place to crown the King of Scotland. Add in a very impressive and informative Visitor Center and Museum and Kilmartin Glen is one of the best sites in Scotland....

The Best Things to See, Do and Experience in the Fascinating Scottish Borders • Wander Your Way 28/02/2024

Not many travelers make it to the Scottish Borders. We arrive in Edinburgh, spend some time there and typically head north. But there are a wealth of travel treasures in The Borders of Scotland. After all this is the area that saw lots of fighting between the Scots and the English. So let’s learn a bit about the Scottish Borders and what there is to see, do and experience....

The great thing about working for yourself is you can take some time out of your day and do something for you.

Today I finally got to meet my new great nephew, Henry, William Nieman… a.k.a. Hank.

And I got to give his daddy and mommy, my nephew and niece in law, a big hug.

He’s two months old and just adorable! 🥰

i’m so fortunate to live the Location Indie lifestyle.

Train travel in Europe is such a wonderful way to get around. But you can't get everywhere via train. And even if you can get to the places you want to go, it can be confusing. Which train station? Should I buy a rail pass? Which train company should I ride with? And how do I buy ticket? And when should I buy that ticket?...

My 9 Favorite Moments From My European Journey • Wander Your Way 31/01/2024

As I settle back into life being back in the States, I find myself thinking back to the past 8 months of my digital nomad European journey. There were lessons learned. For instance, I need to slow down and be in one spot for a good month every 6 weeks or so in order to establish some good routines and to really get some work done....

My 9 Favorite Moments From My European Journey • Wander Your Way Travel to Europe in 2024 is going to be epic. Of course, I say this every year. But I really believe this for the upcoming year.

🙋‍♀️That’s me.

Back in Ohio.

Out for my first wee jog 🏃🏻‍♀️in the new neighborhood.

And now another year older.

I’m so grateful to (aka my big sister) and her husband for opening up their home to me.

I’m so lucky to have an 🥰 amazing family!!

So I’m settling into life in the States 🇺🇸 again and, admittedly, it’s a bit strange.

But all is well.

So as I celebrate another trip around the sun ☀️ today, I just want to say “thank you” to everyone who has been so supportive over the past year.

And here’s to another awesome trip around the sun that yes, has me back in 🌍🇪🇺Europe soon!

Slainte 🥃🥂

Umbria • Italy • Wander Your Way 23/01/2024

Often overlooked by its more famous neighbor, the region of Umbria in Italy has a lot of the same treats as Tuscany. But with fewer crowds. Small towns with cobblestoned lanes. Rolling green hills dotted with vineyards. Delicious food and world class wine. Gorgeous churches with incredible art and architecture. Plus Umbria is a bit more mountainous so the scenery can be a bit more dramatic....

🥰 It’s always good to be back in St Andrews…

As I end my almost 8 month nomadic journey, I’m happy 😃 to be spending it with friends and in a town I truly love.

And in a country that has begun to feel like home.

I’m ready to go back to Ohio — at least for a while.

✈️ But I also know that I’ll be on the next journey 🚗 in just a few months.

And, yes, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is on the list!

20 Reasons Why You Need to Visit the Charming Town of Pitlochry Scotland • Wander Your Way 17/01/2024

The 11 Best Things To Do in Ambleside, Lake District England • Wander Your Way 04/01/2024

Ambleside is a small, charming town in the Lake District of England. Specifically it’s considered to be in the southern area of the Lake District. Or maybe the central area. I can’t seem to find a definitive answer on this. If you were to break the Lake District National Park into North and South, it would be in the southern half for sure....

😍 2024 is off to a beautiful start here in Pitlochry Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

As the sun hits the hills here, I’m hopeful for a great year ahead.

The last 2 years have been rough with my dad.

But he is now at peace.

🥰 And I know both he and my mom are watching over me and guiding me to live my best life.

So while I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions, just moving forward and living my 😊 best life is what I want for myself in 2024.

Happy New Year 🥳🎉🥂

In honor of the winter solstice, I want to tell you about a special monument in Ireland ❄

Newgrange is a passage tomb that dates back to about 3200BC.

✨ It’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen and one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. I’m quite sure my jaw dropped on my first visit to Newgrange.

Located in County Meath just an hour or so from Dublin, Newgrange sits in the sacred Boyne River valley along with Knowth and Dowth. This is what is known as the Brú na Bóinne area.

✨ Brú na Bóinne means “palace of the Boyne” and it was named because it’s this part of the Boyne River where the ancient people of Ireland built these incredible structures. It was sacred to them.

Admittedly, when you first see Newgrange from a distance, it may not look like much. But just wait until you get inside…

☀ Newgrange is lined up so that on winter solstice morning at sunrise, the small inner chamber lights up. They do a fabulous re-creation of this on the tour. It’s amazing!

Enjoying 🥰 my last few days here in Ambleside in The Lake District of England 🇬🇧

While Ambleside is firmly on the tourist track, it has been nice to be here at a quieter time.

I’ve definitely seen all kinds of 🌧️❄️☀️☁️weather, but that’s OK.

It’s 😍 beautiful here, regardless!

I’ve enjoyed the trails, the restaurants and cafés, the shops… There are a lot of outdoor 🥾 shops… and the locals who are very nice.

I’m sad 😢 to leave but know I will be back!
