🚀 Building Your Nonprofit's Track Record - Fast! Hi fam! 🌟 As a startup nonprofit, establishing a strong track record is crucial for success. This means gathering quotes, testimonials, and praise from collaborators to show you're making a real impact. But how do you get these if you're just starting out? Partner with an established organization! 🫱🏾‍🫲🏿 Offer your program to an established nonprofit for six months for FREE! The six-month partnership gives you the time and opportunity to: ✅ Get valuable feedback ✅ Access the resources of the organization - existing participants and locations/venues, making it easier to deliver your services. ✅ Gather testimonials both from participants and the organization’s staff at the end of the program. ✅ Continue serving your community by extending the partnership. Set expectations from the start with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Include details like the service you’ll provide, what you expect in return (testimonials and feedback), and that you might need to charge for services if they want to keep working with you after six months.💼 Ready to level up your startup nonprofit by building an impressive track record? 👀 Check out my latest podcast “Start Up Success: How to Build a Track Record” Link in comments! 🔗 #Nonprofit #StartupTips #NonprofitSuccess #NonprofitSuccessRoadmap #HowToStartANonProfit #OnAirWithAmberWynn #WynnMethod

Hey founders! 🚀 Have you ever heard of "Founder's Syndrome"? 🤔 It's when a founder starts a nonprofit or a business, and the organization doesn't grow. And it doesn't grow because the founder doesn't allow it to. But why would any founder do that? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Usually, it's because in their mind, it IS their vision. 🌟 They're not allowing others to contribute, expand, or grow. The founder has to touch everything before any decisions can be made. ✋🏾They always have the final say. THEY NEED TO HAVE CONTROL BECAUSE THEY FEEL THREATENED. This is a big problem because new ideas cannot come in, causing stagnation. In the episode on "Founder's Syndrome", we dive deep into what it is, how it affects organizations, and most importantly, how to tackle it. 💪🏾 For the full episode of our podcast, check the comments for the link! 🎧 💬 And if you are seeing little to no growth in your nonprofit, leave a comment below and let us know if you think it is because of Founder's Syndrome or something else. #Nonprofits #Founder #FounderSyndrome #NonprofitLife #OnAirWithAmberWynn

💡Keeping Your Finger on the Pulse: The Importance of Organizational Assessments Hey founders and executive directors, I know that it's easy to get lost in the daily grind. But if you ignore your organization’s health, you might see slow declines in recruitment, enrollment, and partnerships. 📉That's where an organizational assessment comes in. Think of an organizational assessment like your car’s 3,000-mile check-up – crucial for catching issues early before they become costly. It's your chance to lift your head up, get out of the weeds, and make sure everything's running smoothly. 🚗🔧 By doing regular assessments, you can: ✅ Stay Relevant: Ensure your programs meet community needs. ✅ Keep Your Staff Happy: Check in on staff satisfaction to prevent burnout and turnover. ✅ Be Proactive: Identify and prioritize areas for improvement. If the idea of an assessment seems daunting, don’t worry. It doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. You don’t need to hire a pricey consultant to figure things out. Here are some easy and effective ways to assess your organization: ✅ Ask Key Questions: Are we meeting your needs? How can we improve? ✅ Engage Your Staff: Use anonymous surveys to gauge satisfaction and identify issues. ✅ Get Community Feedback: Understand if community needs have shifted due to changes like gentrification or new populations. Remember, it's your responsibility to stop, assess, and adapt to keep your nonprofit relevant and effective. 🔍💼🚀 Want a more in depth understanding of how to administer an organizational assessment? Check the comments for the link to my latest podcast episode! 📌 #Nonprofit #OrganizationalAssessment #NonprofitSuccess #Leadership #NonprofitManagement #OnAirWithAmberWynn

Donor Cultivation.mp4
💡 Overcoming the Drop in Giving through Donor Cultivation Hey everyone, have you heard the bad news? Less than half of American households now give to charities, down from two-thirds in the early 2000s. Economic challenges like the pandemic, inflation, and political instability are driving this change. 📉 So, what can nonprofits do? 🤷🏿‍♀️ If you've followed me for a while, you know I always say every nonprofit should have at least 10 funding streams. Relying on grants alone and just a few corporate sponsors makes you vulnerable to economic shifts, as we saw when the pandemic halted galas and in-person fundraisers. This means that you need to cultivate your relationships with each donor. Now is the time to focus on strengthening your individual donor relationships. 💼🫱🏾‍🫲🏿 People give when they feel a connection. If all your donors receive from you are “asks” at the end of the fiscal year, then they won’t have a problem tightening the purse strings during economically challenging times. Donor cultivation is a huge part of generating consistent revenue from individual and major donors, ensuring diversity in your revenue. Here are some tips to build strong relationships with individual donors: 📞 Pick Up the Phone: Call your supporters, ask how they are, and really listen. Strengthening personal connections can lead to surprising opportunities. ☕ Meet for Coffee: Create a human connection with donors. Share stories, photos, and videos of how their support changes lives. 🏫 Invite to Site Visits: Show donors your programs in action. This fosters a deeper connection to your work. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Introduce to Staff and Volunteers: Let donors hear firsthand from those who benefit from their support. ✉️ Send Personal Notes: Acknowledge donations with handwritten notes to show appreciation. 🖼️ Gift a Framed Photo: Have participants sign a group photo expressing their gratitude and gift it to your donor.

How to Demonstrate Impact.mp4

📢 Nonprofit Donations & Tax Deductions: Know the Facts! 📢 In this #AskAmber segment, I tackled a common misconception on donations and tax deductions: "Are all donations to 501(c)(3) nonprofits 100% tax deductible?" 🤔 ❌ The answer is no! Not all contributions qualify. For example, a $175 gala ticket might only have as little as $14 that’s actually tax deductible. 💬 It's crucial to communicate correctly: tell your supporters that their gifts may qualify as a charitable deduction and advise them to consult a tax professional. This keeps it real and builds trust. Just to be safe, always use the word "may" so you don’t alienate your supporters but still give the right info. #Nonprofit #501c3 #TaxDeduction #IRSTax #NonprofitManagement #AskAmber

Are you struggling to get your programs funded? Have you ever considered that it might be because your programs are NOT fundable? 😟💸 As disheartening as it may sound, there are some ideas out there that just aren't fundable. It could be something that you're passionate about. It could be something that even brings a benefit to the community, but it is not fundable. For example, FUNDERS DO NOT FUND: 🚫 Events 🚫 Camps 🚫 Singular workshops This is because grants are meant to deal with the problem and not the symptom. Funders reserve them for programs that offer long-term benefit. 💡 You shouldn’t drop these kinds of programs though, because they are still good ideas! Instead, you should be looking into other sources of funds like sponsorships or marketing money. 💼 You just need to understand what it is that funders consider fundable and not! 🌟 So if you're struggling and you haven't been able to figure out the secret sauce, you might want to watch the whole episode of my podcast to learn a bit more. Did you know that there are about 1.48 million nonprofits across the country? Why is it that we haven't made a dent? 🤔 It’s all about having a POVERTY MINDSET. 🧠👎🏾If you have a small mindset, then your nonprofit is going to have a small impact.
