Missouri NORML Members and Supporters
Campaign to Legalize Ma*****na in Missouri This Year!
Dear Friends,
The Legal Missouri 2022 campaign to legalize adult use of ma*****na in Missouri is well underway. We have petitioners working in six of the eight Missouri Congressional Districts in Missouri. Our Constitution requires that we gather signatures in only six of the eight Congressional Districts.
The campaign is especially in need of additional volunteers in the Kansas City and Springfield areas. We need people who are willing to work to gather signatures and who are willing to assist in notarizing completed petitions.
We also need financial support for this campaign. If you have not yet done so, please go to LegalMo22.com right now and make a monthly pledge of support for the duration of the campaign. There are only nine months remaining in the campaign. Please pledge as much as you can afford to support the effort to place this issue before Missouri voters this year.
If you are interested in becoming a paid member of the campaign staff, you should be aware that we are now paying petitioners starting at the rate of $20 per hour. If you are interested in becoming a paid petitioner for the campaign, please go to apply.fieldworks.com.
We are now planning to hold the Spring 2022 MO NORML Conference on the afternoon of Saturday, May 21. This event will take place online. More than 10,000 people attended or viewed at least a portion of our Fall 2021 Conference. We hope to have even more people participating this time!
Sincerely,
Dan Viets

MISSOURI PATIENTS NOW PROTECTED IN MAINE
A visit to the Missouri NORML booth at Columbia’s PrideFest celebration resulted in Missouri medical ma*****na patients being protected from arrest and prosecution when visiting the state of Maine!
Mr. Nicholas Charles, a Missouri patient, is planning a visit to the state of Maine. He spoke with Dan Viets about the fact that the state of Maine provides for reciprocal protection for medical ma*****na patients from other states, but only if the other state’s medical ma*****na program has provided the state of Maine with an example of the other state’s medical ma*****na credentials.
Authorities in Maine want to have such a document on file in order to be able to verify the authenticity of a medical ma*****na card presented by a patient from another state in Maine.
Missouri NORML Coordinator and Article XIV Campaign Board Chair, Dan Viets, J.D., offered to contact Lyndall Fraker, Director of the Missouri Medical Ma*****na Program, about this problem. Dan did so after Mr. Charles sent him an email the following week. He asked the Missouri DHSS Medical Ma*****na Program to send the required documentation of Missouri Medical Ma*****na patients’ credentials to authorities in the state of Maine. Missouri NORML received a quick reply from the staff at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Both Mr. Lyndall Fraker and DHSS attorney Amy Moore verified that they will indeed comply and provide such documentation to authorities in Maine.
As a result of this interaction, all Missouri medical ma*****na patients who visit the state of Maine will now enjoy legal status and be protected from arrest and prosecution while there.
