Born in 1958, Haring emerged as a prominent artist in the 1980s during the coming-of-age of Generation X. His aesthetic and philosophy left a lasting imprint on the cultural landscape and the experiences and attitudes of Gen Xers!

Haring’s messages of inclusivity, activism, and bold self-expression are literally the blueprint for the legacy for Generation X. 🎉 Yes, Gen Xers started to challenger charge.

Haring’s influence continues to grow stronger. Virtual exhibitions, online retrospectives, and interactive experiences ensure that Haring’s art remains accessible to new generations of art enthusiasts, keeping his spirit alive in the digital realm.

Don’t miss the show at Toronto’s AGO, Keith Haring: Art Is for Everybody as it is filled with insights into the artist and person. This is one of three print designs from the new collaboration launching in March from Marrimekko x Ikea.

“The Raparperi pattern is inspired by the large, decorative rhubarb leaves that sometimes grow next to sauna buildings in Finland. The wide, green leaves are a sight to remember – and the pink stem is a juicy, crunchy treat,” Maija Louekari, designer.

The new IKEA and Marimekko BASTUA collection consists of 25+ products of furniture, glassware, and textiles that draws inspiration from elements of Nordic nature, wellness, and self-care rituals.

We love the bright colours and funky shapes. This is the perfect balance of minimalism and maximalism.

📍 Monument to the Overseas Combatants
Monumento aos Combatentes do Ultramar - This monument stands in tribute to members of the Portuguese army who died during the Overseas War of 1961 to 1974. The monument consists of a triangular sculpture formed by two large black and white pillars to form an inverted V shape, over an eternal flame. Soldiers (look like Naval uniforms) stand guard over the flame and if you time it right, there's a changing of the guards, roughly on the hour.
