Sustaining Healthcare Delivery in Ogbaru Federal Constituency

The quest for qualitative healthcare especially in rural communities have become a huge burden on government and stakeholders. It entails both human and material resources to actualize.

In Ogbaru federal Constituency, Hon Chukwuka Onyema, representing the federal Constituency, have greatly contributed to the healthcare delivery of the area through regular sponsorship of medical missions. The interventions have provided a platform for constituents to access free health care during the duration of the medical missions.

The jubilation and ovation from the people whenever Hon Chukwuka Onyema visits any ongoing medical mission, shows that he is immencely appreciated and loved by the constituents.

Communities both within land and riverine areas including farm settlements have overtime benefitted from the programme in eye, dental, surgery and general medicine. This is an indication that the federal lawmaker places high premium on qualitative healthcare.

The beneficiaries within the federal Constituency have continued to applaud Hon Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema for sponsoring healthcare interventions and the team of health professionals, with hope for more medical missions in the Future.

Healthcare Intervention in Ogbaru Federal Constituency

A one day free medical mission for Island communities and farm settlements in Ogbaru Federal Constituency, sponsored by Hon Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema has commenced in three centers in the federal Constituency.

The benefiting settlements and farmlands which includes Okpa George comprising of Obikwele Onuodigiri, Obawangu and Agwe Oleke farmlands, Anieze, Ndi ubom, Ukwueri, all within Odekpe Town, Ossomala as well Ogwu Ikpele and environs are being attended to by a team of healthcare professionals from PeakCorp Investment Limited (Consultants) under the supervision of Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.

Men, women, children and the aged with varying cases of health complaints passed through laboratory investigations before seeing the doctors who prescribed the requisite drugs for collection at the pharmacy unit.

There were influx of people as work progressed in the centers, obviously because of the increased awareness of the outreach from the beneficiaries who have been attended to.

Meanwhile, Hon Prince Chukwuka Wilfred Onyema, Member representing Ogbaru federal Constituency today received commendation from the beneficiaries who applauded him and the team for the healthcare intervention.

Free Cervical Cancer Screening in Anambra North Senatorial District

***Day II

The free Cervical Cancer Screening for women and Young ladies in Anambra North Senatorial District, sponsored by Sen Stella Oduah has entered the second day since the programme commenced yesterday at St Luke's Anglican Church, Okpoko, Anambra State.

Women from Ogbaru and Onitsha axis and neighbouring communities came in their numbers in the two days programme.

Samples were taken from the women who came for the cervical screening. The histoscientist processed the cervical smear into slides after staining, that will be sent to the consultant pathologist for observation.

A practical demonstration of how to detect breast lump in the case of breast Cancer was also organized for the Women by the team Nurse.

Beneficiaries of the programme from across the Senatorial district have expressed appreciation to Senator Princess Stella Oduah OON for the initiative.

Meanwhile, a delegation from Federal Medical Center, Asaba were at the venue yesterday to assess the level of compliance with medical standards. They expressed satisfaction with the work done so far by the team from JKN Medical Limited, the consultants of the free Cervical Cancer Screening.

Women in Anambra North Senatorial District benefit from Free Cervical Screening

St Luke's Anglican Church Okpoko, Ogbaru L.G.A, Anambra State is the venue of the ongoing Free Cervical Screening for women/Young ladies in Anambra North Senatorial District.

The programme, sponsored by Sen Stella Oduah, Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, afforded women the opportunity to be screened for the prevalence of Cervical Cancer by the team of Histoscientists from JKN Medical Limited, consultants of the programme.

At the Commencement of the programme, the women were taken on the signs of cervical cancer by the team Nurse. They were informed that prevention is the cure for cervical cancer and hence the need to go for screening periodically.

The records unit took the details of the women before going to the Laboratory for a cervical smear with Virginal Speculum. The pap smear is then used for investigations to check for cervical cancer. The early stage of Cervical Cancer can be managed through surgery.

The programme is supervised by Federal Medical Center, Asaba.

Beneficiaries of free Prostate cancer Screening applaud Sen Stella Odua

Beneficiaries of the free Prostate Cancer Screening in Anambra North Senatorial District have appreciated Sen Stella Oduah sponsoring the programme designed to check their Prostate health.

Men from 40 years age bracket who came for programme from within Onitsha and Okpoko environs, were taken through several tests including blood, urine and ultrasound scan to determine the level of PSR which is the indicator for prostate cancer. Early detection of Prostate Cancer improves the case management of the disease.

The programme took place at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha and St Luke's Anglican Church, Okpoko, both in Anambra North Senatorial District.

The beneficiaries were full of appreciation to Sen Stella Oduah and the team from Khan Plus Global Limited for the success recorded in the Prostate Cancer Screening programme.

Free Prostrate Cancer Screening in Anambra North Senatorial District

The free Prostate Cancer screening being sponsored by Sen Stella Oduah, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District has been applauded by beneficiaries of the programme. The programme is taking place at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha and St Luke's Anglican Church Okpoko.

Blood and urine samples of beneficiaries who are men above 40 years were taking for qualitative and quantitative tests. The PSA test and Scan were carried out to determine the status of the prostate gland.

Earlier at the commencement of the programme, the leader of the consultant team, Mr Jude Alaba Mohanye advised the cross section of men who came for the programme to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Sen Stella Odua to know their prostate health status. He informed them that early detection is key in the case management and as such, they should endeavor to be screened.

The programme is supervised by Federal Medical Center Asaba while the medical consultants is Khan Plus Global Limited.

Towards Early detection of Prostrate Cancer in Anambra North Senatorial District

Free Prostate Cancer Screening has commenced at All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha and St. Luke's Anglican Church, Okpoko, sponsored by Sen Stella Oduah, Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District.

Prostate Cancer is one of the killer diseases of men above 40 years, hence the need for early detection and management.

The Oualitative test analysis for blood and urine samples are being carried out in the two centers upon which the PSA tests and Scan are done for confirmation and early management.

The programme is supervised by Federal Medical Center Asaba while the medical consultants is Khan Plus Global Limited.

** Sen Stella Odua Sponsored Free Medical/Eye Care in Perspective

The one day free eye care in Anambra North Senatorial District sponsored on friday October 28th 2022 by Sen Stella Oduah has raised concerns on the need for regular eye check among individuals especially in rural communities.

The programme which took place in three centers, Omor Town Hall, Ayamelum in Oyi L.G.A, Comprehensive Health Center, Atani in Ogbaru L.G.A and Ukwu Oji, Okosi Road, Onitsha in Onitsha North L.G.A, all in Anambra North Senatorial District, recorded huge success in Eye Care intervention.

Beneficiaries who came for eye care went home with huge appreciation for Sen Stella Oduah and the medical team for addressing their eye challenges. Reading glasses were given to the visually impaired and eye drops as well.

The joy from beneficiaries of Cataract excision from the outreach venues was visible at Onitsha where they were operated on by the team of Opthalmologists. Restoration of clear vision after the surgery will forever remain indelible in their minds for years.

Similarly, It would be recalled that a one day free medical mission in Anambra North Senatorial District held on Wednesday October 26th 2022 in Odekpe, Odoakpu Onitsha and Nteje where residents within the designated venues with different health complaints were attended to by the medical team.

The unprecedented words of appreciation to Sen Stella Oduah, the medical consultants, Sunivera Logistics Limited and the outreach supervisors, Federal Medical Center Asaba was enormous during the free medical/eye care programme.

In the words of Mr Jude Alaba Mohanye, head of the Consultant organization, "Regular eye check is the antidote to clear vision. Periodic eye check is therefore adviceable to reduce preventable eye diseases".

Residents of Onitsha and environs benefit from free Eye Care in Anambra North Senatorial District

Residents of Onitsha and environs today trooped to Ukwu Oji, Okosi Road, Onitsha, one of the designated venues for the one day Free Eye Care in Anambra North Senatorial District to seek redress to their eye cases.

Large number of people who came with eye related complaints were seen in an orderly queue at the venue, waiting to be attended to by the team of Optometrists.

They took turns to undergo visual acquity tests to determine the specific reading glasses to be given. Eye drops were also given alongside. However, persons diagnosed with Cataract condition were billed for surgical excision.

The programme which is sponsored by Sen Stella Odua for residents of Anambra North Senatorial District received commendation from the beneficiaries who thanked her for bringing the eye team to attend the their eye cases. Many of them wished that the programme will be carried out again in future.

Other venues where the programme is currently ongoing are Omor Town Hall, Ayamele and Comprehensive Health Center, Atani.

It would be recalled that a free medical outreach for general medicine, sponsored by Sen Stella Odua took place on wednesday in Odekpe, Odoakpu and Nteje in the Senatorial District where a lot of people with varying health challenges were attended to.

Scores of people with eye related cases have been attended to by the team of Optometrists. Reading glasses and eye ointments were given to the people after visual acquity tests. Persons who have been billed for cataract excision will be operated on by the Opthalmologists.

Sen Stella Odua sponsored Free Medical Mission in Anambra North Senatorial District

A one day free medical mission in Anambra North Senatorial District have commenced in three different
venues across the Senatorial district. The programme is sponsored by Sen Stella Odua, member representing Anambra North Senatorial district.

The medical mission supervised by Federal Medical Center, Asaba, with Sunivera Logistics Limited as consultants is going on concurrently at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Odoakpu, Idemilli Market Square, Odekpe and Nteje Town Hall, Nteje.

Residents within the designated venues being attended to in all the units of the outreach at no cost implication.

The records unit takes details of the patients while the laboratory unit is for medical investigations. The drugs prescribed by the doctors after consultation are given to the patients at the pharmacy unit.

Beneficiaries of the programme have lauded the sponsor, Sen Stella Odua for the medical mission in the communities wherein they expressed satisfaction at the excellent healthcare by the medical team.

The programme will end at 5pm today.

Unlimited Joy and Gratitude as Hon Chukwuka Onyema visits Okpoko free Medical Outreach Center

There were widespread jubilation and expression of gratitude to Hon Chukwuka Onyema, member representing Ogbaru federal Constituency, as he visited St Raphael's Hospital, Anumudu, yesterday, venue of the Cataract excision at the free medical outreach in Okpoko, Anambra State.

The Lawmaker was accompanied by Mr Jude Alaba Mohanye representing JKN Medical Limited, the medical consultants in the outreach. Hon Chukwuka Onyema, who have been sponsoring the free medical outreach in Ogbaru federal Constituency for several years, acknowledged cheers from beneficiaries and their families, whose vision were restored after the procedure.

He promised to assist in the provision of qualitative healthcare and basic amenities to the constituents and commended the medical team for the efficient healthcare delivery during the outreach.

The outreach kicked off on Thursday October 13th 2022 at St Luke's Anglican Church, Good Shepherd Church and St Raphael's Hospital in Okpoko axis in Anambra State.

There were medical interventions in Eye, dental, surgery and general medicine in all the venues.

Meanwhile, many of the beneficiaries have called on the sponsor to bring back the team to the community in no distant time to attend to their health needs.

As the 3 days free medical Outreach in Okpoko, Anambra State, courtesy of Hon Chukwuka Onyema enters the third and final day, beneficiaries have continued to show appreciation to the facilitators for bringing healthcare to their doorstep.

At St Raphael's Hospital, Anumudu, venue of the eye surgery, a lot of people had their sight restored after Cataract excision yesterday. They could not hold their joy on the clear vision. Some of them have had the condition for several years.

It was observed that more people trooped in at the designated venues, St Luke's Anglican Church and Good Shepherd Church inclusive, to seek for medical attention. The records, Opthalmic, dental, Laboratory, pharmacy and outpatients units were busy due to the influx of more people. Reading glasses, Artificial teeth and drugs were given to the patients after routine check.

The programme which is supervised by Federal Medical Center Asaba with JkN Medical Limited as consultants will end today after a successful 3 days programme.

FMC Asaba gives a nod to Okpoko free Medical Outreach, Anambra State

The supervisors of the free medical outreach in Okpoko, Ogbaru federal Constituency have adjudged the programme as having met best medical practices.

The delegation from the hospital who visited the outreach venues were received by Mr Jude Alaba Mohanye who took them on a guided tour of the units in the outreach. They expressed satisfaction at the level of compliance with medical standards by the medical consultants, JKN Medical Limited.

Patients billed for various surgical cases were operated on at St Luke's hospital outreach venue. A lot of people with Cataract cases from other venues were attended to by the Opthalmologist.

The 3 days free medical outreach sponsored by Hon Chukwuma Wilfred Onyema will be rounded up tommorow in all the 3 venues.

Day II; Okpoko Free Medical Outreach
St Luke's Anglican Church, Okpoko

The free Medical Outreach in Okpoko, Ogbaru federal Constituency Hon Chukwuma Onyema has entered the second day.

At St Luke's Anglican Church Okpoko venue, the people were orderly as they waited patiently to be attended to by the medical team.

The records unit documented their details before moving to the Laboratory unit for laboratory investigations. Drugs were prescribed by the doctors at the outpatients' unit, which were dispensed by the pharmacists.

At the Opthalmic unit, visual acuity tests were carried out for the patients. Reading glasses were given to the patients as well.

Parents with surgical cases from the other outreach venues are refered to St Luke's Anglican Church while Pterigium and Cataract excision are being carried out at St Raphael's Hospital, Anumudu.

The medical mission has as consultants JKN Medical Limited and supervised by Federal Medical Center Asaba.

Commencement of Free Medical Outreach in Okpoko, Anambra State

A three day free Medical Outreach from 13th - 15th October 2022 have commenced at Okpoko, Ogbaru federal Constituency, Anambra State. The medical outreach is sponsored by Hon Chukwuma Onyema, member representing Ogbaru federal Constituency. The Medical Consultant is JKN Medical Limited while the supervisor is Federal Medical Center, Asaba.

The free medical outreach is running concurrently at three venues Namely St Raphael Hospital, Anumudu, Okpoko, St Luke's Anglican Church, Okpoko and Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Okpoko.

There were medical interventions in Eye, Dental and outpatient units and drugs prescribed after the doctors consultation.. Reading glasses and artificial teeth were also recommend for patients who came with related cases.

The programme continues tommorow.

Nigeria our country is 62 years today. This calls for sober reflection and a time for all Nigerians to re-dedicate their lives to the growth and development of our nation.

As we move into another round of campaigns and elections in 2023, I call on our politicians to play the game by the rules. Let the will of the electorate prevail at all times.
