Local IndiGo promotes independent small and micro businesses to their local communities by providing them with a marketing platform. We think small and micro-businesses are essential to the vibrancy in our communities. As they grow, these businesses are more likely to hire from the local community. Money they make is often spent locally in rent, food or other services. Many micro-businesses don’t
even have an office so they have their meetings in coffee shops and pubs. Often, independent local businesses are involved in local charities and sporting events that are of personal importance to them. Using local businesses is also good for the environment and can be good for you too: if there are less hours travelling there are more hours for important things like catching up with friends and family, sleeping, sport or whatever it is you love to do with your free time. We are called Local IndiGo because the Indigo plant fixes nitrogen from the air into the ground for other plants to use. It seems to us that small and micro local independent businesses do the same thing they create an environment for the community to thrive in, bringing vibrancy and energy. As you can see, supporting your local business is good for the local community: support local business, strengthen local communities.
