EBONYI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT, CHIEFTAINCY MATTERS AND EBSIEC APPLAUD THE COMMISSIONER MLGCM HON CHIEF STEPHEN UCHENNA IGWE JP.

. The Committee led by their Chairman Hon.Goodluck Obinna Mbam Rep.Izzi East State Constituency ,made this known during their familiarization visit to the MNLGC on Wednesday 24th April 2024.

On their arrival ,the Committee Chairman thanked the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State for his unquantified gestures to Ebonyians disclosed their mission to include facts findings on the working relationship between the Honourable Commissioner and his Staff, LG Council Chairmen, Dev Center Coordinators, principal Officers in the 13 LG Council , Traditional Rulers and the leaders of various Communities in Ebonyi State..The Committee equally demanded the progressive report of the ongoing construction of Duplex Lundge for Ebonyi traditional Rulers, elections and coronation of Traditional Rulers and Town Union Executives in some communities. .

On receiving them, the Honourable Commissioner welcomed them for having the time to discharge their legislative duties as that will ensure checks and balances in the system .The Honourable Commissioner in his response, firstly commended the administrative mantra of the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State Rt.Hon.BLDR Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru which focused on the People's Charter of Needs .He described the Executive Governor as a personified democrat and an Icon in the leadership history of Ebonyi State.

He informed the committee that on assumption of office ,His Excellency the Executive Governor approved the construction of a duplex Lunge for all the Traditional Rulers in Ebonyi State,a gesture that is the first of it's kind since the creations of Ebonyi State.He added that the construction is ongoing and will soon be completed in all the palace of Ebonyi Traditional Rulers.In addition,the Commissioner informed them that elections and coronation in so many Communities are in progres adding that disputes and crisis lingering in various Communities are gradually getting to an end .

According to him ," I personally adopt a process of fair hearing in every matter reported to the ministry before taking any decisions" and after our decision on every case reported to us everyone goes home rejoicing ". He further stated that his relationship with the Council Chairmen ,, Coordinators and leaders of various Communities in Ebonyi State is very cordially and productive.He said, " I always engaged the Council Chairmen, Coordinators, Principal Officers on a monthly meeting to ascertain the level of their services to the people at the grassroots and as well sensitize them on the policies and programs of His Excellency which is always geared toward the upliftment of the people's welfare and direct them to implement that to the latest. "

In his statement ,the Commissioner stated that every community in Ebonyi State enjoys relatively peace and unity ,as we hardly hear any rumors of war or crisis anymore since the assumption of office of the present governor His Excellency Rt.Hon BLDR Ogbonna Nwifuru.

In his closing remarks,the SSA to the Governor on Chieftaincy Matters Hon.Paul Nwaogha Commended the executive governor of Ebonyi State for giving every ministry the opportunity to operate and carry out their functions effectively.He described the Governor as a kind hearted and a humanitarian Governor.He added that the relationship between the commissioner and the Council Chirman down to the leaders of various Communities in Ebonyi State is encouraging and unequivocally appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for his unparalleled leadership in the Ministry.
