Steel Street Welding
Welding, Metal Fabrication, and Blacksmithing
Thought I’d try my hand at making some copper and steel kitchen utensils.
Been messing around with some copper recently. Made a new dishing stump and stake to work copper with.
Did a little more work on the messenger bag.
Working on a new messenger bag. 4-5oz oil tanned leather and navy blue suede liner.
Welded and forged this Mage Staff last year. Steel, torch blackened hickory, and amethyst stone.
Finally making some progress on the house again. Anything and everything was taking up our time last year. Gettin back at it though now. Got most of the tabs for the floor purlins welded in and started putting those up. Also got the deck built and mostly done.
Finished this belt and buckle and little concho snap things I forged. Not sure if I like the copper with the blackened steel. Might try waxing or just oiling the steel next time I use copper. Maybe silicon bronze would look better with the blackened steel. Maybe use a lighter colored brown dye on the belt also so that the buckle stands out better. Need some new ideas for buckles and also need more ideas on how I can incorporate copper or bronze into designs
Playing around with tig brazing copper onto steel again. Decided to try it on a buckle I’m making. Probably will blacken the steel. Think it’ll look good like that
Haven’t done much forging lately. Been a little busy on what’s gonna be the house.
Experimenting with some copper and bronze tig brazing on steel and testing what it can handle in the forge.
Tried my hand at forging some little conchos for some leather work projects I have.
One of the finished ornaments I made for a friend and his family.
More Christmas ornaments. First try at forging some leaves. Came out better than I expected.
Painted the hummingbirds I forged.
Picture of the stove we built after installing it. Works really well. Fingers crossed the roof doesn’t leak 🤞🏻
Building a pipe stove for the workshop. Forged a big 1” solid square bar handle for it.
Made some little hummingbirds.
Painted the snowflakes and candy canes
Forging some snowflakes and candy canes
Once again, forgot to take photos at TRF, but here’s some pics I took of the completed Carian crest shield before I went.
Did some leather work. It’s fun being able to forge my own hardware for stuff
Forged a couple more things including a cloak brooch.
Paint is coming along nicely. Not much left to finish except touch up some thin spots in the gold I think and oil the unpainted steel
Starting on some of the paint this evening
Added some pretty stones to the shield cause I’m extra. Think I’ll add some metallic paint next
Forged 2 rings to match the buckles for the shield carry strap. Probably gonna do a very dark brown for the straps. Debating if I should stitch the edges and back them with suede or not.
Finished up the buckles
Started on forging a couple different sized buckles. 1.25”, 1.5”, 1.75”, and 2x 1”
Cleaned it up some and oiled it. Looking even better now. Gotta figure out how I wanna do the straps for it.
Made some more progress. The Carian crest is looking pretty cool. Still need to clean it up some.
