MAFAR-Datu Hoffer conducted a lecture about Vegetable Production and Postharvest Technology to the members of Kadtumana Farmers Association of Brgy. Mantao, Datu Hoffer, MDS.

Muhammad Zackie A. Ulama, Agriculturist I, discussed the production and management of of different vegetable crops while Rahib H. Akmad, Agricultural Technologist, discussed its Post-Harvest Technology.

After the lecture, each farmer received a leaflets, organic fertilizer and assorted vegetable seeds to be planted in their area as an additional support from MAFAR.

This initiative is part of the mandates of MAFAR-Datu Hoffer and commitment as FITS Center to provide fast and easy access to information and technology services in Agri-Fishery; and is part of observation for the Nutrition Month that aims to raise awareness in the importance of Nutrition for every farmers and fisherfolks of Datu Hoffer.

MAFAR-Datu Hoffer conducted a lecture on Nutrient and Pest Management of Rice Production Technology and distribution of liquid fertilizer and pesticide for the rice farmers of Barangay Labu-Labu I and Tuayan Mother, Datu Hoffer, MDS.

Engr. Rahib H. Akmad, Rice Specialist, discussed the storage and management guidelines of liquid fertilizer and pesticide.

After the lecture, each farmer received a leaflets from FITS Center, liquid fertilizer and pesticide under GAAB as an additional support from MAFAR for their crops.

This initiative is part of MAFAR-Datu Hoffer's commitment as one of FITS Center to provide fast and easy access to information and technology services in Agri-Fishery.

July 3, 2024|MAFAR-DATU HOFFER CONDUCTED MONITORING ACTIVITY TO THE FLOODED AREAS

Heavy rainfall last night caused the water level of the Kabulnan River to rise, resulting in flooding in the corn and rice fields.

The affected areas include Sitio Lambuay of Barangay Labu Labu I, as well as Sitio Mayan and Sitio Kasan in Labu Labu II, Municipality of Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur.

Initially, 58.21 ha of Corn and 9.32 ha of Rice affected by the flood at Barangay Labu Labu I and 21.33 ha of Corn field affected at Barangay Labu Labu II.

The MAFAR -Maguindanao team and MAFAR-Datu Hoffer conducted monitoring to the established Techno-Demo of Hybrid Rice and Corn located at targeted barangays of Datu Hoffer.

High Value Crops such as Lanzones and Vegetable demofarm areas were also included in the said activity.

This activity aims to monitor and assess the implemented programs for 2024 in response to El Nino Phenomenon to help increase the yield and production of aforementioned crops in the Municipality by demonstration of production technology.

Monitoring and technical intervention activity on farmer beneficiaries of MAFAR Programs.

June 6, 2024 | Orientation on 4H Club Organization cm Distribution of Tilapia Fingerlings from OPAG MDS

The orientation was conducted and facilitated by Local Youth Development Officer, Normaliyah A. Omar, together with MAFAR-Datu Hoffer led by MMO Al-Basser B. Anayatin, OPAG-MDS represented by Supervising Agriculturist, Engr. Ayana June G. Kalim, and LGU-Datu Hoffer represented by Municipal Administrator, Norodin Mamaluba, Committee Chair on Agriculture, Hon. Datu Pandag S. Ampatuan and Hon. Datu Akas Ampatuan.

During the orientation, Abraham D. Kaslon shared his success stories and experiences at Japan as Filipino Young Farmer Intern of 4H Club Organization to inspire the new 4H Club members. Esmail Kiko, former 4H club member, also shared his insights about the importance of the 4H Club for the community.

Simultaneously, the distribution of Tilapia Fingerlings given by the Office of Provincial Agriculturist Maguindanao del Sur Headed by Engr. Jedahni E. Ulangkaya was done successfully.

Datuido Tulon led the technical briefing on Tilapia production and management.

April 25, 2024, |NSHP TECHNODEMO VALIDATION

The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA-BSWM) in collaboration with the MAFAR-BARMM Integrated Laboratory Division (MAFAR-ILD) and MAFAR-Maguindanao team, conducted a site validation of the proposed 15-hectare Corn Technology Demonstration area in Barangay Tuayan Mother under the National Soil Health Program of DA-BSWM.

This project is part of the Adaptive Balanced Fertilization Strategy Technology Demonstration (ABFS) which will be established in the upcoming dry season.

The Municipality of Datu Hoffer is the pioneering proponent of this project in the BARMM. The LGU-Datu Hoffer, headed by the very supportive Honorable Mayor Bai Bongbong Midtimbang Ampatuan, expressed gratitude and support for the project and the implementing agencies (BSWM and MAFAR).

APRIL 22, 20224|MASS DISTRIBUTION OF RCEF SEEDS FOR WET SEASON 2024

More than 700 bags of Certified Rice Seeds was distributed to the Rice Farmers of Datu Hoffer from DA-PhilRice Midsayap under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) in Partnership with Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform - BARMM, MAFAR-Maguindanao, MAFAR-Datu Hoffer and Municipality of Datu Hoffer.

In addition, MAFAR-Datu Hoffer through FITS Center supported by Agricultural Training Institute - Region 12 also distributed IEC Materials (Gabay sa Pagpapalay and El Niño).

PCIC Monitoring and Validation Activity

MAFAR-Datu Hoffer facilitated the monitoring and validation of PCIC-Cotabato to the farmers affected by Crop Damage due to El Nino Phenomenon at Brgy. Talibadok, Datu Hoffer, MDS last April 13, 2024, Saturday.

The PCIC’s principal mandate is to provide insurance protection to farmers against losses arising from natural calamities, plant diseases and pest infestations of their palay and corn crops as well as other crops.

March 13, 2024|Hauling and Delivery of 1,000 Mango Seedlings!

The MAFAR-Datu Hoffer assisted in the hauling and delivery of 1,000 Mango Seedlings requested by the LGU-Datu Hoffer from MAFAR-Maguindanao, through the initiative of our dear Mayor Hon. Bai Bongbong Midtimbang Ampatuan for the rehabilitation of desolate agricultural areas in Datu Hoffer.

March 14, 2024 |Groundbreaking Ceremony!

The MAFAR-Maguindanao, MAFAR-Datu Hoffer, LGU-Datu Hoffer, BLGU-Tuayan I, the Contractor and the recipient of the Techno Demo on Halal Native Chicken Production was gathered as one in the Groundbreaking Ceremony done at Barangay Tuayan I, Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur.

The TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION ON HALAL NATIVE CHICKEN PRODUCTION project aims to establish a foundation for the halal production of native chicken and produce a more reliable halal native chicken industry in the province of Maguindanao.

The activity was attended by the MAFAR-Maguindanao Team, led by Dr. Saudi D. Mangindra accompanied by the Senior Agriculturist Sir Norhid Wahab, Senior Agriculturist Sir Saban Belongan, Agriculturist I Sir Solaiman Kabasalan, representative from the contractor Sir Engineer Khaleed, and Sir Morad Maulana, from the LGU-Datu Hoffer represented by the committee on Agriculture Hon. Datu Pandag Ampatuan, from the BLGU-Tuayan I, Barangay Chairman, Hon. Datu Norodin Ampatuan, the recipient of the project Mr. Kasim Mamalo Mamayog, and of course the MAFAR-Datu Hoffer Family.

The day was filled with relaxation, pleasure, and camaraderie. Our outing destination provided us with a chance to relish the fresh air and breathtaking views.

We shared stories that strengthened our bonds as colleagues and as family. We are grateful for this opportunity to unwind and connect with each other in a meaningful way.

Our commitment to serving the people of Datu Hoffer remains unwavering.

We strive to improve the lives of the farmers and fisherfolk in the municipality and we are proud to be associated with such a noble cause.

Our team is not just a group of coworkers, but a family who support each other through thick and thin.

February 19-21, 2024

Over 2,500 Bags of Fertilizers were Distributed to the Corn Farmers of Datu Hoffer in a Three-Day Distribution Activity done at the Municipal Covered Court of Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur!

This was a collaborative effort between various organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO) as the lead implementing agency, MAFAR-BARMM, MAFAR-Maguindanao, MAFAR-Datu Hoffer, and the strong support of Local Government Unit of Datu Hoffer.

This project was funded by the People of Japan, and aimed to support over 700 RSBSA Registered Corn farmers in Datu Hoffer who need assistance due to the high price of fertilizers.

The project includes a cost recovery scheme to support the group of farmers, associations, cooperatives, and organizations for the sustainability of the project.

This project was a product of the power of collaboration and highlights the impact of well-executed plans.

The MAFAR-Datu Hoffer, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN-FAO), and the Local Government Unit of Datu Hoffer Municipality gathered as one in a coordination meeting requested by UNFAO regarding the smooth implementation of the project entitled "Sustaining Rice and Corn Production in BARMM thru the Provision and Effective Use of Fertilizer Amidst the Global Impact of Ukraine Crisis"

The project was funded by the people of Japan through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN-FAO).

Shukran for the Trust! Shukran for choosing Datu Hoffer to be one of the beneficiaries of this project, this will be a great help to our partner farmers!

The MAFAR-Datu Hoffer conducted a short meeting together with our partner farmers (Farmer Leaders) regarding the upcoming project of UNFAO to be implemented in the Municipality of Datu Hoffer for the corn farmers.

This meeting was conducted to enlighten our partner farmers to the guidelines of the project, explain their responsibilities as beneficiaries and their role in the success of the said project.

This meeting was also attended by Hon. ABC President Datu Abdulmoen Ampatuan, Barangay Chairman of Tuayan Mother and Hon. Datu Duma Upam, Barangay Chairman of Talibadok, our Partner Farmers, and chairman of different cooperatives and associations.

January 23, 2024

The MAFAR-Datu Hoffer conducted simultaneous activities (Witnessed the Rice Harvesting, Validation of Fishpond, and On-Site Technical Briefing) at Sitio Lambuay, Barangay Labu Labu I.

The team witnessed the rice harvesting activity of Mr. Esmail Kundo, one of our beneficiaries in the RCEF SEED PROGRAM. 110 bags at 62 kg/bag was harvested with an area of 1.2 ha., Mr. Kundo wants to extend his thanks to PhilRice and MAFAR for providing them with good quality seeds for their farms.

In addition, the team proceeded to the validation of newly established fishpond owned by Mr. Abdulkadir Ambal, the team also gave a technical briefing and encouraged our fisherfolk to register his farm in RSBSA.
