Scholars of the South Tigris is set during the height of the Abbasid Caliphate, circa 830 AD. The Caliph has called upon the keenest minds to acquire scientific manuscripts from all over the known world. Players will need to increase their influence in the House of Wisdom, and hire skilled linguists to translate the foreign scrolls into Arabic. In this Golden Age of wisdom and knowledge, be mindful not to neglect one in pursuit of the other.

Looks like a game for kids but it’s actually pretty complex. It really makes you think. Lots of interesting decisions and plays up to 6 players. Really fun game for those looking for for a unique engine building game.

The pandemic is over but the divorce epidemic has really impacted a lot of people. Great event coming up at MCC on Dec 9th in CA.

I often get asked which games work well for couples, families, etc so I try to post it on my IG. Here is a light/medium game that plays well for 2 to 4 players and is easy on the eyes.

The best game I have played in 2023. Complicated (will make your head spin) but in a good way.

Here are the results from the HOD Live event this past weekend. Every organization that I know who runs singles events measures success by the number of people attended. That’s great for the organization because that’s how they make money but the attendee doesn’t measure success that way. They care more about their experience. I value the match % far more how many people attended. In the end, our attendee’s success is our success (not the other way around). Some interesting info from the last event: 74% matched, about 1/4 of the people drove from out of state, and everyone at the event had at least 1 or more people interested in them. When you do things differently than everybody, then you tend to get different results. Alhamdulillah

Finally got a chance to play Mind MGMT. Wow! What a game! Imagine hide and go seek on steroids. It’s one person trying to step one ahead of anyone everyone else trying to chase them down. So many twists and turns, it checks off just the right boxes. With nearly 300 games in my collection, I have never played anything like it.

Just remember the epic social deduction games I was hosting last year in Mexico (Husna Vacations) - Every. Single. Night. people would gather around to play and each night the crowd would become bigger and bigger (I think at one point we had 70+ people that all wanted to play!) This year we are going to raise the bar even higher with my latest game, Baba’s Village, because I’m bringing it with me to the Bahamas for Husna again inshAllah. Can’t wait!

One of the most hardest games to teach but totally worth it. The game, Wayfares of the South Tigris, has amazing mechanics. It’s based on actually history when Muslims were excelling in science. Just finished playing for the first time and all I have to say is WOW!

Look what just arrived! Two new games 🥳 “No Way Jose!” uses a unique auction mechanic and “Cat & Mouse” is fun social deduction game that plays up to 32 players. Half Deen now has 15 exclusive activities at our events. Not only are activities unique but they can be played from 12 to 80 players at the same time. More importantly, the games are designed to bring out the unique personalities of each attendee. Plus, they’re super fun 🙂

15 days left and the Saturday event in London is sold out and only a few seats lefts for Sunday. One thing for sure is all the Muslims who do things on “Muslim Standard Time” are not coming to the London event.

My latest game just arrived. I played the prototype with 16 people on Saturday night and when the game was finished, there was a standing ovation. If all the games I made, that was the first time I had such a reaction. Alhamdulillah 🙂
