Re-Elect Judge Cloninger for District Court Judge

This was this past Friday as I had the honor to preside over the last District Court session in the “old” 1975 courthouse. I have been working in the building for almost 30 years and saw so many characters, personalities and unique people come through that building. The best was seeing my father both as a State trooper when I was a child/teenager and then as a bailiff with the Sheriff’s Department while I practiced law. I’m excited about the new building we are going into. It was much needed and I’m thankful for those leaders with the foresight to make it a reality. But a small piece of me will always long for those characters, those personalities, those true individuals that were ever present at the 1975 building, whether they be those who worked there or those who “visited.”

It’s been 11 long years without you. I sure would like to talk with you about some things, as well as life in general. And how I would like to hear your thoughts on the new Courthouse. You could really woo some jurors there!! 😂But I know you have a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon this Father’s Day now that mom is with you. I am so very fortunate down here with Lisa and the family, but it never gets easier without you. Kiss Grace and tell her I love her! Til I see you again, Happy Father’s Day Papa!!❤️

Well it’s been 11 months since you went to see Papa, Harrison, Louise, Elizabeth, and all your family and friends who preceded you. I hadn’t thought about this day for whatever reason and then it hit me like a freight train this week. This will be the first Mother’s Day without you and I’m at a loss for what to think or feel. You were always my biggest supporter, my toughest critic, my backbone when I was scared, my North Pole when I lost my way. This day has always meant so much because you have meant so much. Not just to me, but to the whole family. I sit here searching for you, thinking about you, always wishing I could talk to you again. But God had a different plan and while that plan broke my heart, I know you are celebrating big in Heaven. We are all doing OK down here but it will never be the same without you! I love you dearly mom and I know Papa surprised you with a wonderful Mother’s Day gift. Hug him for me and I can’t wait to see you again❤️

Well another Election Day approaches tomorrow. Thankfully I am unopposed so that is a great blessing. It’s the first one without my Mom! Oh how I miss her but I know she’s smiling with Papa and Louise and Harrison in heaven. June 14 seems like a long time but also like yesterday. Mom, nothing can ever replace the love and support you gave this family! Thank you so very much. I would like to thank my sweet bride Lisa for all she does every day. We celebrated 4 years married this weekend and I am eternally grateful the Lord brought you into my life. It took a while, but we got there. Also, a huge thanks to all my family for your love, patience and support. You make me look forward to every new day!

Well folks the 2022 general election is upon us. I am fortunate that I am unopposed in this cycle and I look forward to serving the citizens of Cabarrus County for another four years. I humbly ask you for your support and continued prayers going forward.
