This is Everest. He is a very sweet, and gingerly old man. As you can see, he is in desperate need of a dental to alleviate his mouth pain. He is waiting so patiently at Animal Control to get a freedom ride. We noticed his beautiful face while we were picking up the Sam’s Club kitty. Everest has need for extensive medical treatment to help him feel comfortable in his old age. We would like to have a dental done, a senior blood panel, and an evaluation for his glaucoma. With meticulous care, senior cats as old as Everest often still live several additional years in comfort. We would like to give that to him. We need to raise $1500 to pull Everest and cover all of his extensive medical needs.

UPDATE - thank you to everyone who has donated. We have raised about $700 so far. We have also decided to try to help Groot's owner while Groot is healing. We are hoping to raise more money to help with gas, food, and a hotel for Groot as he is healing. (We have a very generous individual sponsor for the hotel - but we would like to help her with this expense). If everyone could keep sharing and donate - every little bit helps!

Here is more information on Groot, the chihuahua attacked by two stray dogs earlier this week.

Groot's owner is a veteran who is currently homeless living in a tent. He has had Groot for 5 years and this dog is HIS LIFE.

The dogs that attacked him had been running throughout the neighborhood all day. Animal Control was on the scene after the attack and reported that they had had numerous calls about the dogs prior to the attack. Groot was rushed to Overwatch Animal Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He received stitches around his entire body. He has a drain in his chest that will be removed in a week, and the stitches will hopefully be removed in 2 weeks. Groot could possibly be released to his owner today.

PLEASE READ AND SHARE - We have been bombarded with calls for help the last two weeks. We are trying our best to help everyone - but with all the calls recently - we cannot keep up financially. We need donations. We need media support. We need shares. We need new donors. We need corporate sponsors. We need ideas on how to raise big money. We need to grow the network if we are going to continue our mission. Here are a few of the animals we are trying to help right now. I will do another post on Groot with more details.

1) Groot - a Chihuahua attacked by a two strays was nearly ripped in half. His surgery was over $1,000.

2) A Jack Russell Terrier had to have a life-saving c section yesterday. Unfortunately, only one puppy survived. We paid $600 to help save her life.

3) We are paying for another life-saving surgery for a cat who had a bladder blockage. Thanks to Cats on Commerce for getting Buddy in quickly and performing the surgery at a discounted rate. This bill is $1,200.

4) We are helping with a dental surgery for Maxi, a King Cavalier mix. Maxi is in severe pain caused by an absessed tooth. This sugery could be $500-700.

5) Some of you remember Smokey, the kitty who needed to have his paw amputated. We were able to raise $600 to help with this surgery.

We have received a call to help another pup, Max. Max was rescued by her owner when she was a puppy. She was full of worms and very sick when she found her. Max is now 10 years old, but her early life has left her riddled with health obstacles - the latest being a severely broken tooth which has become infected and caused her to drop weight and be in a great deal of pain.

Max needs her tooth extracted, and we would like to help raise the money to relieve Max of her pain. Any donation for Max will be greatly appreciated.

Max's owner says Max has been with her during the most difficult times of her life including near homelessness during the pandemic as well as every breakup and hiccup of her life. All she wants is to give Max the golden years she so deserves.

Good morning everyone!  We need your help! A good Samaritan found a stray kitty two weeks ago. They have named him Smokey. He has no movement or feeling in his right front paw. We paid for him to see a vet last week. The vet said he was most likely born with this condition. Unfortunately, the vet is worried that he will do more damage to the paw/leg due to the fact that he has no feeling there. So, amputation is recommended to prevent any further damage. He is scheduled for surgery on Friday at Cats on Commerce. The cost will be somewhere around $1,200. Please share and donate to help Smokey! We have agreed to help a Clarksville family who suffered the total loss of their home in a fire on Monday night. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to find and save the family dog, Buddy. Buddy suffered severe smoke inhalation and eye injuries. We want to make sure Buddy receives all the care he needs to be reunited with his family. He was treated at Nashville Vet Specialists the night of the fire and will need to receive additional treatments over the next few weeks. We anticipate his bills will be over $2,000. This family's home and belongings were a total loss - so the recovery of their beloved Buddy will mean everything to them. Please consider donating to help Buddy!
