What a night! Our seventh heARTburn was one for the books! ♥️🔥

We just want to take a moment to send out a massive thank you to all the lovely people who volunteered their time and talents to make such a success! From the phenomenal art, performers and DJ’s, to behind-the-scenes planning and building, to all the setup and teardown over the weekend, to volunteer shifts at the event….we could not have done this without you!! ❤️🤗

Hello beautiful heARTburners! Now that we are one day away from gathering together, we wanted to take a moment to remind you to please make sure you have a plan in place to get home safely at the end of the night. ❤️

👣 Thankfully we are being blessed with milder temperatures for this time of year, so if your home or accommodations are within walking distance this is an excellent option. We have a large coat room where you can store a bag with warmer layers for the walk home. 🎒

🚕 If walking isn’t a viable option, Canmore also has several Taxi options available (numbers listed below).

🚗 If you do need to drive your own vehicle, please have a designated driver in your group, or be prepared to leave your vehicle overnight and take a taxi back - because hey, sometimes things happen. 🤷‍♀️

🐻 And of course if you need any help at the end of the night, find a Care Bear or anyone on the heARTburn production team and we will be more than happy to call a taxi for you!! ❤️🤗

Hello party people! Are you excited?!? We sure are! Before you rush out the door to have the best night of your year so far, here are a few points to keep in mind:

Doors open at 7:30pm!!
🧊 Icebreaker event starts shortly after doors open, at 7:30. This year our long time favourite host Dr. Steve will be running Burner Bingo! Make new friends at this fun and relaxed icebreaker.
🚗 Canmore parking - there is free parking from 8pm to 8am in Canmore in designated spots, but otherwise, beware of ticketing. The best way to pay for parking is with the Blinkay app.
🥤Bring your own cup, as per burner custom. Otherwise we will have LIMITED compostable cups available for $1.
🪪 Bring your I.D. This is an 18+ event and ID is needed for entry and drink ticket purchases.
Tickets will be listed under the original purchaser’s name on the guestlist, so please make sure you know the name associated with your TICKETS!!!
💵 Bring CASH or CREDIT CARD for the bar and/or cafe, so you can get your drink on.
🤗 Get consent for hugs first - we're mostly a hugging community, but make sure you ask before you go for it.
😷 Wearing a mask is OK, because reasons!
If you find yourself needing assistance or in an uncomfortable situation, please don't hesitate to let anybody on our production team or our amazing and easy-to-spot Care Bears know!
🎒Bag searches will be in effect! Security greeters will be checking for alcohol/weapons at the door.

❤️ We know how disappointing it is when this event sells out so quickly and how tempting it is to want to secure a resale ticket as soon as possible. ❤️ It’s an unfortunate reality that fake scammer accounts are becoming more and more prevalent on Facebook targeting sold out events, even community events like ours.

Online scammers are getting more sophisticated in general and it’s very easy to be taken in if you don’t know what to look for. So here are some quick things to check if someone you don’t know is offering you tickets for sale:

- If someone is offering 4 tickets this is an easy red flag. We had a 2 ticket maximum/person, so no one will have 4 tickets in their name.

- Check their profile. Do they have any friends to show, is the profile pretty sparse and basic, do they seem to have any obvious connection to Alberta, BC or even Canada?

- Ask them to show you a screenshot of their order confirmation showing the right price, the event name and their name on it.

- Ask them to tell you details about the event, how they heard about it, who they know in the community, if they’ve gone before and what it means to them.

- Be patient and ask the ticket team to check that the person’s name is actually on the guest list.

- If they’re being pushy and deflecting from any of the above requests, trust your gut, do not send them money and report them to the HeARTburn organizers.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

❤️‍🔥Now that heARTburn 2024 is sold out, let's talk tickets, as we have some important changes this year!❤️‍🔥

All tickets will be on a guest list under the name of the purchaser and the name of the guest will need to match the guest list at the door on event night. If you decide to resell your ticket the guest list will not be updated so please make sure the new ticket holder knows to check in under the original purchaser name.

New for 2024!!! If your plans change and you can no longer attend HeARTburn and want to sell your tickets, you are no longer required to have the transfer or resale approved by HeARTburn Festival Canmore! Please remember that tickets must only be sold at FACE VALUE!!

‼️Avoid being scammed! We will do our best to monitor the page for scammers. But PLEASE EMAIL US prior to purchasing any tickets for resale if you do not know the seller‼️Our ticket team will remain on hand to assist potential buyers to ensure that all resale tickets are legitimate and mark the tickets as resold.

GREAT NEWS! 📢 Our 2024 Group Art Exhibition will be from January 4 - February 11! 🎉 This gives us a bigger window to showcase the incredible art our community puts together. It also means the exhibition will be opening a month earlier than last time.

Next Thursday we are hosting the first of three community art events! Join us for Radical Beings: Mask Making with Heartburn free workshops at artsPlace. Work together or solo to create a larger-than-life mask that will be displayed in the Heartburn community art exhibition from Jan 4th - Feb 11th. Come explore identity in a culture of radical freedom of expression, inclusion and participation!
All are welcome, children should be with a supervising adult, no registration required, drop in to one session, or attend them all.
