Adding a little something new to the mix 🥰
As we settle into the post-holiday bit of winter, it's good to remember that the light is slowly returning, seeds are growing, and things are running under the surface, even if we don't notice it from where we are sitting.
And so the wheel of the year turns again... We're mostly past the winter holidays and on into the short grey days of actual winter. The light is returning, slowly, and even though the trees are just snoozing with bare branches right now, you know they are dreaming about the lush days of summer. The garden is dormant, grass is buried under a t...
Happy New Year, friends. May 2023 be a little more gentle with us all.
Tapestry of Lights 🥰 I had such fun working on this one
An update.
Everything's Shiny, Captain. I was supposed to have an earring club this fall! What happened? Well at the risk of TMI, I'm a menopausal GenXer who has had several babies, and a lifetime of trauma, and my pelvic floor gave out. While pelvic organ prolapses are very common they range from mild with little impact on your day to da...
Just keep going and try to leave a little magic for others to pick up and find on the way...
It's like Frodo says... “How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back? There are some things that time cannot mend. Some hurts that go too deep, that have taken hold.”Lately when the grief of the last 2 years crashes over me, I do my ...
Oh my gosh I guess this is happening! Earring Club signups are open, through April 1st.

Poll for M&R collectors - am considering resurrecting a limited number of slots for Earring Club for a 3 month trial and then keeping it going if it goes well. It would be significantly scaled back in terms of spots but I think this would let me do some good work.
Is this something you'd be interested in seeing come back?
Spring is almost here and I am having thinky thoughts about it all.

Honestly, these might never go up in the shop. I love them too much they might be mine. ***r
It's been a long strange trip and we're not done yet. I've been largely silent because I've been busy surviving but we have to come out of survival mode eventually right?
Things change and change can be okay. As COVID starts to surge again with the Delta variant, all of my hopeful plans for future festivals and local events have once again been tabled. We are back in distancing mode, masking, and largely isolating so that we can spend time with our young grandchildren safely. We wish for a pediatric vacc...
I think it's as much my own struggle with pandemic reality and engagement as it is the market, but it is what it is...
This Interminable Year You may have noticed there are no products in the shop. I've paused selling in my store until the new year, in the hopes that things will pick up a bit. To be honest there have been no sales in months. I can't afford to pay the monthly fees if no one can afford to shop. Most of us aren't working, so...
Just a little reminder! Weird little pandemic issues, if you have been skipping putting in your earrings due to it being hard with mask wearing or maybe you are isolating and just staying in - pop a pair of earrings in and wear them around anyway! Do it at least once a week or so, just to keep your piercings open and to avoid irritation when you are finally ready to resume regular jewelry wearing!
Oh my gosh I just got the most GORGEOUS box o’ goodies from Riley/Land Collection - not pictured is the nut-free mole also included because that is in the oven and about to be my dinner. Nom!
I used to blog a lot.
Ten Things. Happy New Year. The sky is finally blue again. It’s nice to be able to open every window in my house and breathe in fresh and clean air again. I was beginning to feel like I was suffocating, literally taped into this house like it was a bubble. You don’t think to be grateful for clean air but here we are. It fe...
I thought it was Saturday all day yesterday and never uploaded the new goodies. Whoops! But given the horrible events in Kenosha, and the fact that police gunned down another Black man in cold blood, the planned update can wait a little longer. Now is not the time.
I'm trying to figure out my best option for shipping and would totally appreciate a response to this if you have the time!
I am considering going to Priority mail only for the duration of this postal nightmare. According to the new Trump enabler/PMG, Amazon packages and Priority mail packages are getting prioritized through the system whereas First Class packages are just kind of left to be delivered whenever. I normally ship First Class but that isn't working and things aren't getting to people.
Going to Priority-only means my shipping rates will increase to $10.00 to include insurance/flat rate. A small flat rate box is $8.30. Insurance starts at $1.65 and goes up depending on value. That's the math.
That seems like a lot to me? But I'm not willing to drive myself crazy trying to track down, replace and/or refund First Class packages that the USPS can't keep track of or deliver. I can't afford the time or the money, not and keep this business afloat. I hate to pass that on to you, but I also can't afford to continue to charge you for First Class shipping and pay the difference for Priority to ensure you get your items. Which is what I have been doing in some recent cases.
I don't blame the carriers, I blame the new PMG who is destroying the infrastructure of the USPS from within. But blame is really irrelevant, the point is that it's crippling my ability to get stuff out to you in a timely and reliable manner. That said, Priority is still cheaper than Fed Ex.
So how do YOU feel about a bump in shipping? Does it make it not worth it to you?
Hey y'all! Just a quick note to let you know that the planned shop update for Wednesday is going to happen on Sunday the 23rd. I'm not feeling great (not Covid, it's just the usual garden variety chronic illness stuff that I live with normally) this week and need a few extra days of rest so I can muster my spoons and get everything sorted!
Big love
A little closer peek at some of what’s coming up in our update on August 19th! Throwback to some gemmy clusters and waterfalls. @ St. Johns
All of our currently open orders are shipping out today! Sorry for the delay. I know that the changes occurring within the USPS are alarming and unfortunately, I can't afford to use other shippers for your packages. Plus it is really important to me to support the USPS and I am hoping that this blatant and transparent attempt to derail voting by mail is stopped and that the Trump crony in charge is forced to reverse his policies soon. I am doing what I can to try to ensure your packages get to you safely in the meantime.
1. I will make sure you always get tracking information on the day your shipping updates are sent out.
2. All packages are insured for their full value in case they go astray. I cannot always replace one of a kind pieces with unique components, but I will do my best to take care of you and find a solution, a refund, or a replacement, if something goes missing.
3. I strongly encourage you to opt in to any shipping tracking/text updates offered to you during the checkout process.
4. I am begging you. Please take a moment to call your Congresspeople - House and Senate - and tell them this situation can not be allowed to stand. Millions of Americans depend on the mail for life saving prescriptions and items. Small businesses like mine rely on the USPS to move our merch. If this continues, and without the ability to do live events due to Covid 19, I will be forced to close my doors.
I can’t get it into a selfie with my face (and this post is not about my face) so you can’t see how HAPPY my new tee from is making me this morning. But trust, it’s a big big happy. **kpants
And the update is liiiive! Yay!
Another peek at some of the pieces in today’s update! I am never going to get tired of the tassels made with . Sandalwood and rosewood and dragon jasper make these extra special. And pair #2 are for folks who like my spikes but are worried about the extra weight. These have all the Boho funk but a bit less weight and length 🥰 @ Portland, Oregon
Another little sneaky peek at what’s going up tomorrow. My minimalists and rose gold lovers, I did not forget you ❤️❤️❤️ @ Portland, Oregon
Setting up product listings and getting ready for tomorrow’s shop update! I think everything will go live sometime around noon. @ Portland, Oregon
A little sneaky peek at a couple of the goodies that will be going up in the shop on Monday this Wednesday (8/5) - I’m excited! @ Portland, Oregon
I've just added a new, permanent, Sale section to the site in advance of Wednesday's update. Some of the older pieces are listed there now in the hopes of finding them loving new homes. If there's something you've been stalking, you might want to go give a look-see! For some reason (reason: I don't know how to change the actual site code and don't want to break my website) the sale price doesn't show up until the item is actually IN your cart, but everything in the sale section is permanently 25% off.
Thanks for your ongoing support.
It’s been a minute since I uploaded new stuff to the shop - I was trying to clear out the older stuff first! Planning a small shop update for next Wednesday morning! Cleared away the paints and brought out the metals and stones this morning. Looking forward to previewing some shiny new pieces!
It’s a running joke between me and the Captain about me “stealing” my own jewelry but it’s true. This one made it onto the website for all of a week before I took it down and kept it. Roman glass, raw kyanite, garnet, ceramic focal from all my favorite things. If you can’t keep your own art some of the time what is even the point?
