No wonder hospitals get it wrong. Having to weigh myself complete with heavy jeans to measure my BMI is absolutely preposterous especially when the technician gets my height wrong. back in the doctors room he tells me my height is 174 cm. I asked him to repeat my height and he said 174 cm. I took her to him and said that’s great. You’ve made me shrink by 14 cm overnight. So I went back after I saw him and was myself several times on the same electronic weighing machine……. *t
A couple of nights ago after a heavy weights upper body workout at Pumping Iron Fitness Gym I happened to spot Terroll Lewis Brixton Street Gym new website https://www.brixtonstreetgym.com/. I encourage everyone to read Terroll’s story link on website about how he got included getting gangs off the street and changed their lives around through education of the “Street ( Block Workout).
A number of years ago I happened to meet Terroll and it had been a while since I had visited the gym that I decided to visit. However albeit was supposed to be my day off any exercise activity. Anyway although not planned I could help showing off some of my silly one finger supporting body weight exercises plus a couple of others including Terroll doing some of his own stuff and showing me how to twirl a stick.
The reason I should tried to have not done those few exercises was partly the Capoeira session I had the day before and the rather cardiovascular session with who had been invited to take the class that same evening which I couldn’t complete as I was so cardiovascular exhausted .
Looking at the future so captivated by learning the Capoeira movement skills that I see it becoming secondary to my Tree Climbing since it also incorporates Calisthenics and animal type movements. The following videos were taken at Terroll’s gym.
When I turned up at the Gym today I had no idea what exercises I would be doing. You could even say those ideas I came out with were very abstract. I had an hour before been out to the park doing some exercises in trees. However, light rain meant I had to be extra careful and I decided to cut the workout short
What made the workout even tougher other is I began my workout at 15.45pm having fasted for 20 hours. This is other than 450 grams of chicken stock with just under 20 grams of protein an hour before and a few supplements after I woke up I was able to complete half my workout. For the 2nd part of the workout I had to resort to 2 protein bars.
My workout was as follows:
1️⃣ This so I have been told is a great exercise to improve the health of the knees. I couldn’t resist trying it out holding on to the resistance band with one hand. The exercise was more challenging than it looks as it required me to get me to lean as far backwards as was possible.
2️⃣ practicing jumping off a one metre high box multiple times is not only a great cardio exercise but also shock tactics to improve the resilience to injury to the knees.
3️⃣ IGeneral Pushups . Here though I was trying some inverted and slow pushups with my feet a metre off the floor.
4️⃣ Doing the Full Elbow Lever for me is very challenging as I was born lacking 60% mobility in my arms
5️⃣ Just a few 3 finger tip slow pushups.
6️⃣ Inverted 3 finger plank
7️⃣ Lifting my feet off the floor while holding onto a 60cm square pillar is a challenging exercise even for a few seconds.
8️⃣ 9️⃣ 🔟 11: 4 variations holing onto a double rope with one hand.(an interesting point is I am recovering from a left shoulder injury but my left arm is stronger than my right)
12: Double hand hold on rope machine tree exercise
13: dismounting through a narrow gap between two branches.
14: Chicken stock and ingredients.
Just trying out face mask whilst walking around the Mind Body and Spirit Show at Ally Pally over the weekend. I wonder if anyone thought I was an Alien. It’s amazing how such a simple face mask can change ones appearance. ❤️
This is what Morphine will do to your stomach. It was a shock to me to look in the mirror. Furthermore as a pain killer I felt it didn’t help.
While eating this healthy 548 cal lunch at Mildred’s Convent Garden I am continuing to read The Oxygen Advantage. Since I bought the book it has given me an invaluable lesson into how I may improve my health. While nursing my recovery now 5 weeks in; still feeling the effects of cracked ribs and Pneumothorax in 3 points on my right side learning breathing exercises in Patrick McKeown has been invaluable. For one thing I’ve improved my Bolt score from 20 to 33. I could say even 40. But feel safer actually at 30. I don’t know how many times I do the exercises throughout the day although it wouldn’t surprise me if around 100 or so.
When I was recovering in hospital and for the first two weeks at home, I was using a nebuliser. It was same while reading this book. I have not needed the use of a nebuliser and I found alternative ways to deal with my COPD and emphysema for me that is a plus.
My repetitive breathe in exercises. I’m testing myself by seeing how many of Patrick books lines I can read after I have breathed out. I can’t even get to Reid 21 Lynes which equates to about 40 seconds without any hard breathing afterwards, so I think that’s a pretty good result.
But it would seem if all of us could learn about the Oxygen Advantage would be far healthier I wonder what your thoughts are on this subject do you think Work is the answer to a lot of our ills? I encourage you to follow me to learn diverse fitness and health tips
Just a little reminderFit for over 60 is no Fit for over 70. While watching this video may not be for everyone what I can do is show you how to exercise on a tree where your feet will hardly leave the ground. Watch out for future videos.

my physio has ordered me to stay away from squats and lunges etc. I’ve also got to be very careful jumping down from rigs making sure my feet are within a few inches off the ground. I’m aware this is going to be a challenge. But perhaps I’ll be focusing more on weight training for a few weeks. He’s asked me to check back in a couple of weeks. This time I’m listening and his advice will definitely be a part of my action plan I willfocus on the following knee rehab exercises Shallow wall sit 30sec x 3 daily
Knee extension (partial range, find which is most comfy) 414 tempo, 3 x 10, 3x week

Just going through past memories taken outside of Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand.
This story from my@past ignited my interest in Calisthenics courtesy of https://stories.swns.com/news/super-fit-pensioner-claims-to-have-cured-an-unbearable-case-of-lower-back-pain-by-becoming-a-gymnast-103443/
This is something I don’t understand. This restaurant’s portion was enough for four people. There was no way I could eat any more. Even after taking home in a doggy bag it is very likely I will be wasting a lot of the fruit. It just shows how some chefs have no idea about wastage or the starving homeless. I was saddened by the size of portion let alone the Toyota l amount of sugar one person was supposed to be able to eat in one session.
With my Mother 👩 in a Hospice my sisters and I have been clearing out her 🏠. We came across this original Iconic advertisement from the Imperial War Museum that is primarily about the London Blitz in World War Two. The house was where my Mother lived. However to protect children they were sent out of harms way. My Mother who came from an Orthodox Jewish background had to live with a Catholic Family. tAt home when the bomb dropped was her Father brother, sister and sisters fiancé.,All died apart from her brother whose life was saved by a girder he was hiding under in the air raid shelter basement under their house. To think had my Mother not been sent away I would not be here. The bus on the rubble of their home is in every pictorial book about the Blitz. This is the first time I have ever seen the Advertisement.
Oh boy 👦 do I love climbing trees
